There was a statement during the Magic Knights Entrance Exam by Sekke that states Jack the Ripper (using his severing magic) can split the planet in two. (There was no feat or WoG, just a statement from Sekke)

Extraordinary statements require extraordinary proof.
We don't need proof if a character says they can hold their breath for a couple of minutes, that's not significant enough to really doubt or come into question.
We do need proof if a character claims they can split an entire planet in half or something of the like, especially if it would be considered an outlier.
