Because he is much faster and ruthless than books Geralt. Books Geralt is FAR weaker than games Geralt, in books he's like, 9-C+ or barely 9-B and above baseline Subsonic. And it's not like Geralt wanted to kill them all. The lad was begging him for mercy and he later got surprise bitch-stabbed.

Geralt defeating things much faster then him is pretty impressive actually.
