No one in DBZ's ever done that, so it's kind of a stupid assumption to say he will.

Ouch. It's true they're in character, but there's nothing suggesting Krillin shouldn't be able to do that at all. Not even saying it would necessarily hit, just that is a viable strategy.

Otherwise, he can still blind Onaga or cut him in half with Kienzan.

Before I decide on anything, how good is Onaga's Soul Manip?

I would assume it would be similar to characters in his own verse so basically soul removal and soul absorbtion like Shao Khan.
