He can because heat damage is apparently scaled to durability,and Regice is High 6-A in Durability so I guess he won't even feel it.

Thanks to how Pokémon works, Magcargo can´t really be simply frozen, Explosion is likely the only way Regice has to beat Magcargo, but Regice also goes with him in the process, so inconclusive, especially considering Magcargo could tank it with some luck, as rock types resist normal type moves.

Hold on, Regice can learn Bulldoze, which can likely one shot Magcargo as it´s a double-stacked weakness, as it´s a ground type move, but as TMs aren´t used in Vs. threads, that goes out of the window.

You're seriously arguing a 6-C having a chance against an High 6-A... solely based on gameplay mechanics?

And btw the heat of the sun isn't that high on the tiering system

And since you want to argue gameplay mechanics, do you know he learns simply by "leveling up" offensive normal, earth, electric, fighting and rock moves? And Magcargo's low "atk stats" against Regice's high "defense stats" won't let him one shot even with the type advantage
