Nightmare vs Tsuna

Meanwhile I wait for votes. Otherwise I will be making that Grimmon vs Tsunamon I refrained from making. Ovo

XD

Question, I see that Nightmare can absorb souls through releasing some kind of energy wave. Would Tsuna be able to absorb such a wave through SBA? If not, such an attack would likely one shot Tsuna, so I'd have to give it to nightmare. Gravity hax is nice, but I'm not sure if it can stop an AoE wave.

I...... can't say. No one has ever tried such a thing before. It also doesn't cause any real physical damage when he uses Soul Wave to steal souls.

True. Though this knowledge is kinda important, lol. Otherwise Tsuna loses pretty handily.

Also, question about Tsuna, he was capable of killing Daemon Spade's spirit, does that count for anything? Like, his normal attacks don't affect the spirit, but dying will flames have always had this associate with life and death through the reborn gag (which was oddly consistent), and he was capable of killing a spirit that was right before him. Does that count as anything?

It means that he can likely permanently kill Inferno. Otherwise not really.

Yes I forgot about that power null ability of his lol and he can turn people to stone or freeze them

doesn't Tsuna have that cape that blocks attacks
Not in UDWM

He doesn't use weapons in UDWM

That said he should be able to use his other abilities just fine including petrification

Although Soul Wave does prove a problem

does Nightmare start with it normally on 1v1s or is only for crowds?(Because I hazily remember him taking out an army with it)

We know for sure in crowds...For 1 v 1's no one knows. Most characters who canonically fight him resist Soul hax (Kilik, Siegfried, etc)

There is a chance he won't start with Soul hax, but killing Nightmare is a process.

Defeat the Host - Take out the body.

Defeat Inferno while avoiding getting defeated, killed or possessed. - He has to do this. Inferno sends whoever defeats the host to Astral Chaos in order to take them over. If Inferno wins, Tsuna becomes the new Nightmare.

Break the Sword - Do not grab it and resist any temptations that Soul Edge might send out. Shatter and destroy the blade. Soul Edge is known for manipulating the mind in order to get others to grab the sword. If Tsuna grabs it, he becomes the new Nightmare.

Don't pick up a shard - Breaking Soul Edge does not kill Inferno. it just incapacitates him as he is no longer at full power. But he can still corrupt you and turn you into a Malfested if you make contact with a shard. Tsuna becomes a new pawn of Soul Edge.

Wait for like a month or so (time depending on actions of those infected by the Evil Seed) - Rense and repeat.

hmmm....

I might just go inconclusive

For ap it's pretty unclear with Nightmare scaling from a 376 megaton feat and Tsuna unqantifiably above his Choice Arc self's 176 megaton feat, not that the true bread and butter of the fight

It's the fact both have a certain attack to take out the other, question is who'll pull it off 1st? If Nightmare just decides to absorb Tsuna's Soul and get it over with then it's his win, but if he doesn't there's a chance Tsuna can use his ZPB: 1st edition or attempt to petrify him with the Harmony flames

Nightmare: 0

Tsuna: 0

Draw: 1

Although there is also the fact that Tsuna has to use ZPB and nothing else to kill Nightmare. Of course I listed the process he has to go through if he doesn't use ZPB.

After choice arc, Tsuna doesn't really use petrification at all, which I honestly don't understand. But it's true. Gravity hax is a different story though.

His gravity hax is incredibly potent though, to the point where Nightmare likely wouldn't even be able to raise his sword, or his entire body, in the first place. And Tsuna might just be able to wail on him a bit from there. In verse, the only reason it didn't work on Daemon Spade was because the flames of the night granted him resistance to Tsuna's gravity manip (Might be something that needs to be added to him and Bermuda's profile, idk).

That soul-stealing AoE is still incredibly nice. But I don't think anyone is sure whether or not Tsuna can absorb it. And it also seems we're not completely certain if it's in character for Nightmare to use it in a one on one fight anyway.

First edition should work pretty well though, seeing as how Xanxus couldn't break out of it, even using the flames of wrath.

I think inconclusive might be best here for the time being. Good thing is, Tsuna can kill Inferno. And, iirc, his gravity hax should work on spirits as well. And hopefully his Hyper Intuition would warn him to not touch the blade.

Also, Tsuna will be fighting Inferno more than likely, so I should note that Inferno can copy fighting styles (And he has the experience and skill advantage by a mile), and powers. I got to make a thread for that though. At most he'd only copy the gloves and the Sky Flames. But he likely won't have ZPB. Unless SCVl changes that this October. ovo

Inconclusive

Reasons above

Also man SC needs some serious speed feats....

I've tried. But lack of many combat cutscenes hurts Soul Calibur. Like the AP feats we found were hard to find just so happen to be in character endings. I don't think there are many speed feats on screen. All we have is Siegfried's MHS attack speed from an outside source.....And there is a timeless void known as Astral Chaos, in which is where Inferno BFR's everyone in order to fight them. But it by no means fits our Timeless Void requirements

Oh, then he likely won't copy it. Does Tsuna have any weapon. Not that it matters in the long run.

@Dragon

I understand. SC is kinda lacking in many cutscenes. SC V was a disappointment to me, in part, because of that.

@Hst Master I feel it'll be stompish if Tsuna doesn't have his VG, as all he can do is punch and kick. We don't even know if he can fly. It just gives him sub-relativistic speeds.

Looks like SCVl will fix most of the issues of V....too bad it's a Reboot. So the Original Timeline is stuck where it is....Here's hoping for some nice feats.

Can someone add this for me? I know Nightmare's file is unlocked so it should be fine.

In Ultimate Dying Will Mode he doesn't fight with any of his weapons

Not Natsu or his Vongola Gear (Which means no Mantella Di Primo)

Just his flames and flame abilities(ZBP and Petrification) would be available to him.

@Lit

If it is stompish then Oath Flame would do fine

@Dragon

Yeah, I was really hoping for a continuation. But the game does at least look beautiful, and fix the issues of SCV as you said. Some feats would be nice, agreed. I'm curious to see if Geralt will actually play a role in the story, and if the story will be primarily cutscenes this time around, or at least have far more than SCV.

Tsuna should technically have the Oath Flames in this form as well because Reborn had shot Tsuna while he was in Oath Flames HDWM and the ring was still on his finger when the Vongola gear had broke

@Lit

According to trailers, it isn't. But at least this time the drawings look 1000x better than in V (They actually have color and such). It seems like it may be a balanced mixture. At least I hope. Knowing Nightmare, we are going to get a weather feat or two. So Tier 7 is likely going to be the end tier.
