Pain Manipulation - question

If an attack/power, besides being powerful, is described as also being used for torture and is noted as causing excruciating pain, does that count as pain manipulation?

Or does it have to be something more? Like, do attacks that are noted as being highly painful count?

Or does it only count powers that cause pain to the enemy regardless of their resistance? Or powers that affect enemies who don't feel pain?

Yes, it would count as Pain Manipulation.

The Cruciatus Curse from HP count as Pain Manipulation and your power description seems very similiar to it.

Yes, but like, what if it were an attack that caused damage but had those descriptions?

Like,

I have a power called "super fireball" and one of the descriptions of that power is the things I mentioned? Does that count, or does it have to be a power that only causes pain and no damage?

Because Cruciatus only causes pain, not physical damage.

You said it can "be used for torture and is noted as causing excruciating pain", is it like an actual statement that it's used for torture or just implied/shown. Though the biggest thing is, can said attack's pain "damage" (lacker of better wording) be toned up or down?

I'd say it only counts as pain manipulation if it has some kind of special supernatural or biological reason for causing pain outside of simply doing so as a byproduct of causing damage

For example, a regular ass sword doesn't have pain manipulation just because it causes pain when you stab somebody with it, that's just a byproduct of the damage. BUT, if the sword had a magic enchantment that messed with the opponent's pain receptors, then it would be pain manipulation since it's more direct

It's an explicit statement. And yes, it can be mitigated, but both things grow together: the power of the attack and the pain it causes.

It's a power used in fighting/battle, but sometimes it's used to torture the opponent or prisoner since it's an attack that causes a lot of pain.

Personally, I'd still say it counts as Pain Manipulation (maybe limited) since it has a statement of being used for torture and we can increase the pain (albiet through increase the power)

Like, using an example, imagine if it were a ball/burst of power/energy that causes damage but is also always described as causing excruciating pain and used for torture.

Like, you know the Kamehameha? Imagine that in addition to what that attack has, it also has descriptions like "can be used to torture the enemy," "known for causing excruciating pain," etc.

No, as it is still fall under "strength" category, even if this strength and power is supernatural

For comparison, Kamehameha literally do not have matter destruction despite it can atomize people due to being energy blast, and energy can interact with matter
