If this a stomp I will change for a bigger animal then a elephant

Takes place in a open savana with plent of open space and a couple of trees
They start at 60 meters apart
Neanderthal have each a single spear

Neanderthals: 7 (Greatsage13th, Deadguy999, Arkansalter2, Rayfire, Delusionaltx2, MannyQ361, JustANormalLemon)

Well let me put some trough on this, I don't think they neanthertals have anough spears to consitently take down the elephant, each one having a single spear is a huge drawback, their main strategy of hunting is stalking the prey don't stop untill It's too tired to run or fight back, here the elephant will be fighting back from the start and I don't think this will be good for the neanthertals, they will trow their spear to do some damage and possible make the elephant bleed(what will not be likely) and then they will have to tire out the elephant by running away from his attacks one by one and I don't think they can do It consistently enough to not get one shooted by the elephant, they could space out to make more spears with the trees that are in the surrondings but I don't think that's enough

I would vote the elephant here

Okay so I think the elephant would charge first. The men would probably all throw their spears when the elephant is charging. But since the elephant is moving, although its a straight line, i think 2-3 of the spears would still miss. This one charge of the elephants would probably leave 3-4 men heavily injured or dead if the spears didn’t do enough damage. If the elephant is still kicking after this its game over

I don't think just hitting the spears would be enough, at best wuld mak the elephant bleed, then they would need to stall for the blood loss to kill the elephant, I don't really think 10 spears are enough alone, but idk

But most of those spears would go for the head since the elephant is charging in an opposite direction as those men

I'd say-I'd say, the Neanderthals got this in the bag.

I also find it amusing that only profiles from The Real World have lore accurate piercing damage.

If one spear strikes the eye i think the elephant would die. However, elephants eyes are small compared to their extremely large head so the chance is low. But for 7-8 spears all aiming for the head, it is possible.

They know how to stab. They don't need to throw it.
But if they get to close range, the elephant has a slightly better range and can easily kick them away and it can injure them by a lot or even kill them. I think the elephant can kick two person at a time while the other men attack. Lets assume one man can stab two times while the elephant is kicking. That means there will be 20 + 16 + 12 + 8 + 4 = 60 stabs in total. However, the elephant is probably charging and its hard to stab him without being fling away.

Early humans rely on exhausting their enemies to win, I'm fairly certain they would do whatever they could to make it difficult for the elephant to actually move without massive amounts of blood loss.

Now elephants are really big so therefore they would burn a lot of energy just doing stuff so imagine the amount of energy an elephant would burn charging at full speed while lossing tons of blood.

Humans can throw their weapons decently far so it's likely that while some are targeted others will scatter likely trying to force the elephant to cover more distance and outlast them. Eventually the elephant will get tired and lose speed allowing the survivors to just circle it down and win

Leaning towards humans atm

Nvm the elephant would be charging.

Make sense. The elephant would probably tire from the charges. Scattering, however, although can force the elephant to only attack one at a time, can reduce the accuracy of spears.

These humans are from the same era where hunting and gathering was extremely commonplace, so all of them will certainly have some experience in going after big animals like this, and should be be capable of basic strategy like targeting the legs, and not bunching together and getting too close to it.

Going for the head probably isn't a good idea, considering it's several inches thick and aiming for it would require being within the elephants line of sight, and they definitely won't want something that huge running at them. So surrounding it in a circle formation and throwing their weapons at it's legs to prevent it from moving or at least charging at full speed is the best way i can immediately think of for them to win. Also means the elephant can only attack one human at a time if they do this.

Considering how they're most likely used to similar situations, i'm gonna go with the neanderthal's FRA

Elephant is also way more likely to gas out first, all the humans need to do is keep enough distance, meanwhile the elephant has to focus on many opponents at once that aren't going to let themselves be hit that easily and can impale them from a distance. They also have the ability to sweat, which makes endurance less of an issue too

Yeah we used to hunt mammoths so an elephant should be no problem.
Voting the Neanderthals low-mid diff.

They start 60 meters apart and the elephant will be charging so they cant circle him at first. But the elephant would probably tire out after 3-4 charges and the remaining men can now circle him and use this strategy. I think the men would win. Voting for them

fair, but would be risk to aproche a ranpaging elephant that wants to kill you
Neanderthals wouldn't care much if it were for the sake of food and survival.

Neanderthals can just use an encirclement tactic that puts the elephant at the center. Those spears can puncture and induce pain to an elephant's foot causing bleeding and reduction in stamina.

Elephants are still extremely big targets...I doubt it would effect the accuracy that much
