And the CRTs just keep rolling out...Today we're talking about everything that happened in the Great Witch Chapters that gave characters new abilities and justifications, as well as correcting an AP justifications mistake from the last CRT. No real feat changing, just changing who scales to what based on the equips.
Part 1: Equip Scaling (It was in the last CRT but for some reason I didn't make it something we put on the actual profiles OOPS)
So we're starting with correcting a mistake of mine: Equips were already known to give compatible monsters stat boosts. We list that on the profiles even. However we do not list using these equips as 'higher with [insert equip item here]' and we probably should've by now.
However, the Great Witch Chapter has made it more obvious that the assist weapons the characters equip are far more impactful than just 'higher'. Characters in this arc make use of their equips to battle opponents that would normally be completely out of their league, which was also a very important part of the discussion about scaling in the last CRT. Certain 'equips' were sentient, capable of battling on their own, while others are inanimate objects but are shown to still be of comparable power. So regardless of fighting alongside allies or just using inanimate gear, the user is still getting the same boost.
This was basically already accepted in the last CRT, but I'm re-explaining it here so we're clear that the equips don't just make characters stronger, but stronger to a degree that they can battle characters on-par or comparable to the equips themselves.
Anyone who uses an equipped assist weapon/item/ect should have an added justification of either 'Higher with [Insert Equip Here]' if they still stay in the same tier, but would scale higher, OR '[Insert Higher Tier] with [Insert Equip Here]' for characters who get a complete tier change in these situations, such as the Great Witches themselves who are High 4-C in base, but with their Equipped Assists Items were able to fight 2-C characters.
A further note: Only the key that actually uses the equip should get the equip as 'Standard Equipment'. However all other keys should probably get it as 'Optional Equipment', because with prep-time and outside help, any character can in theory use any equip. We'll delve further into this in another CRT but we're not bloating this up TOO much more than it already is going to be...
A simple example: Zela's base form uses Smokk in-character, meanwhile Zela's 'Great Witch of the Stone Fists' form uses both Smokk and The Archfiend's Arms in-character. Both keys should have a rating similar to this: High 4-C (Upscaling Idia, Being comparable to 5 Mechdragon Fusion, God Canopus, 5 Mechdragon Combo, Demon Hadar, and Ultimate Gunma), 2-C with 'Zela's Magical Hat, Smokk' and 'Archfiend's Arms' (Being comparable to The One that Comes from the Chaos, and being able to fight The One that Writhes in the Void as a team)
BUT, base form should have the Archfiend's Arms listed as 'Optional', and won't be available for SBA threads, only useable if the thread creator allows it.
Well that was fun, lets move onto:
Part 2: New Abilities and New Ability Justifications
The writers of this arc of the story were really making it a grab bag of cameos, a ton of characters from other dungeons, bosses, games, and even other plotlines showed up in this one, and that overlapped with a handful of our profiles we already have on the site. A number of characters revealed new abilities, or revealed new attacks that use abilities they already had in new ways. So they will all need updates.
World Tree Sprite, Alraune:
Part 3: Gaslowe is the new main character
When we found out that we were getting a Story Mode arc about the fan favorite Great Witches, I don't think anyone expected that the secret boss for the HP Lovecraft themed dungeon would be our antagonist for all 5 chapters...And really steal the show. They loaded Gaslowe up and there is SO much to talk about with him compared to other characters, so he's getting his own section to better organize it all:
Abilities:
Gaslowe's absorption of other character's magic makes him much more powerful than normal in this plotline, building in strength until his final defeat and the magic is taken from him, ending with his admittance that he's no match for the Great Witches despite how well he did earlier in the plot.
Gaslowe is a High 4-C character in the scaling chain, and even with the above assist revision we still would not scale him any higher than that. But with his Absorption, I think he deserves a new justification.
-Gaslowe crashes into Saline's Space-Time Gate and fights all the Great Witches at once, each equipped with their magic hats and what remains of the power of their Seals, alongside Saline who still has her full seal and her hat Kohza. They still can't beat Gaslowe and he's able to swipe the fifth seal
-Their next battle with Gaslowe goes much the same, the girls have to regroup and take him on with teamwork, and are forced to steal the seal back from Gaslowe. It's only AFTER losing it that he admits that he does not believe he can defeat the Great Witches anymore.
Gaslowe employed more stealth and trickery early on, used his hax to steal power for himself, and was able to more directly compete with the girls who scaled much higher than himself, and upon losing that power he admitted defeat and that he could not win. So I think Gaslowe should get a new addition to his tiering: "up to 2-C with absorption". This way these feats don't scale back to his base, which they shouldn't, but we outline how powerful we know he can go if given suitable targets or prep time.
Intelligence:
Gaslowe is a smart cookie, and I believe he should now be rated at least as an 'Extraordinary Genius' after the events of this plotline.
-He was already a scientist who experimented greatly with poisons and toxins, which he still displays his great amount of skill with in this plotline too by frequently using potions and toxin related abilities. (See above...So, so many...)
-His history with technomancy and infusing his magic into technology that he developed is so impressive that Madoo, a witch who is at least 7 years into her experience being a 'Great Witch', finds it incredible
-He shows himself to be a skilled manipulator by presenting himself as unthreatening, friendly, and helpful to Madoo while coercing her through her desires to play into his hand.
-He shows tremendous combat skill. Madoo was a 'Great Witch' for at least 7 years and valued gaining more strength 'since infancy', she roamed often to defeat foes in search of Seals worthy of her time, discarding many before the events of the plot. Despite both her power, skill, and experience, Gaslowe was able to force a draw in their duel convincingly (implying he could have possibly won had he desired to) to keep his manipulation going. He would later have the strong advantage against each and every one of the Great Witches, putting Reeche and her allies on the defensive and forcing her to infuse her seal and eventually make the Blue Rose, having complete advantage over Veroah, and was able to combat all the Great Witches together at the same time, which would now include Zela alongside the Archfiend, who she herself is a martial artist and a witch so powerful and skilled she'd impressed Madoo earlier. Not bad for a gangly plague doctor in a nice suit.
-His preplanning had a ton of moving gears as shown back up in the preparation section of abilities, he was manipulating many groups of people to play off each other and work towards power to continuously take it for himself
-His technology allowed him to breach the Time-Space Gate of Saline, something she didn't believe was possible, and allowed him to open dimensional rifts to allow him to summon beings from between dimensions, as well as claiming that they could 'manipulate the dimensions' meaning they were on a scale as far-reaching as other dimensions of their multiverse. It is only implied, but he likely also created the many robotic guards the girls fight as a boss gauntlet while they track him down. (I understand that's less impressive, but it's noteworthy)
Gaslowe's intelligence reached the point of him being able to apply both magic and devices of his own creations to affect the boundaries of dimension and allow for dimensional travel, which has already hit futuristic sci-fi levels of smart, but the variety of what he's done with his science research (robotics, technomancy, poisons, dimensional travel), his manipulations, his planning, and combat skill show he also has a wide range in his capabilities, so I believe this bump is very warranted.
Stamina:
I'm not going to repeat it all in-depth because you've already read it all and you're likely sick of reading this far into the CRT, but Gaslowe's stamina should just mention that he was able to keep up with the Witches and their allies when he was on their level, occasionally having back-to-back rounds of combat with them (1 time against all 5 at once) and could keep going, as well as how long he survived with his magic expelled which should have dusted his body and destroyed his soul. The lanky science boy clearly does cardio day because he kept going like a champ.
Part 4: The TLDR, you're almost there
1. All characters with assists need their assists actually mentioned in justifications for the power that they have on their page. It's character specific if it's enough for a tier bump or not.
2. All the character with pages on the wiki who showed up in this plot should have any new abilities they used mentioned.
3. Gaslowe is a smart boi with a lot of abilities and some hax that let him power up. These all need listed.
I thank you so much for sticking with me to get this far into the CRT, this got quickly out of control because while I don't think a lot of this is complicated (not like justifying new stats can be), it was just lengthy. So many characters need what amount to minor updates, with Gaslowe being the only BIG offender of going through a ton of updates. I understand this has probably been a time investment for anyone reading this and I can't thank you enough.
...And I will thank you by letting you know, there's already 3 more CRTs planned for this verse because other stuff needs done, but we'll get there as we get there. 1 of those is thankfully pretty easy. The other 2 will be long...Not complicated, again, just long...

- Damage Reduction: 'GROOAR!!' reduces incoming damage by 90% for a limited time
- Transmutation: 'KYEE!!' transforms Jammer Orbs into Wood Orbs, 'GYARGH!!' transforms random Orbs into Jammer Orbs, and 'GROOOAR!!' creates a spinner that changes the Orb's type continuously

- Negation of Transmutation: 'Thunder Knight' locks 5 orbs, preventing them from being transformed

- Absorption: 'Gueeehhh!' absorbs all damage from Water Element attacks for a limited time, 'Gurrroooh!' absorbs damage from attacks made of 4 or less combos for a limited time

- Magic: Counterpart to Nyarlethotep, is a being made of magic
- Power Nullification: 'Guah guah guah!' Makes all foes' active skills unusable for a limited time
- Damage Reduction: 'Grrooaaahhh!' Reduces incoming damage by 50% for a limited time
- Transmutation: 'Grraaah!' transforms Orbs into Dark Orbs
- Statistics Amplification: 'Gugyaaaahhhh!' Increases attack by 1.5x for a limited time
- Resistance to Cosmic Radiation and Cold: Flies around in space to eat planets (not exactly added by this story, just something we never added)
- Magic: Counterpart to Nyarlethotep, is a being made of magic
- Transmutation: 'Ancient Sword' transforms Orbs into Wood and Light Orbs
- Statistics Amplification: 'Rage of the Dragon Knight' increases attack by 1.5x for a limited time
- Power Nullification: 'Explosive Heat Wave' makes all foes active skills unusable for a limited time
- Transmutation: 'Flame Shining Storm' Transforms Orbs into Light and Fire Orbs

- Absorption (So much absorption...): The Fairy King notices another presence when Zela is completing her Seal and subduing the Archfiend, to which the gang would later realize was Gaslowe who had syphoned magic from Zela and the Archfiend. During Madoo's battle with the Shiva Dragon her allies note that she's running out of magic unexpectedly, and during the epilogue of her chapter she notes that the completion of her Seal with the Staff of Triumph didn't output as much magic as she was expecting. Gaslowe stole magic from Gilles Legato and returns to suck the rest out of him into vials. At the end of Reeche's chapter, Reeche notes that some of the Blue Roses were missing when Gaslowe escaped. Gaslowe forcefully takes the seal's power from Veroah, making it very clear what he is doing. Gaslowe does the same to Saline, very blatantly absorbing her seal and it's power infront of the girls. The 'I so enjoy fighting a strong foe!' ability absorbed all damage from attacks made of 4 or less combos for a limited time, the '...you have to take them back by force!' ability absorbed all damage from attacks made of 4 or less combos for a limited time, with the 'I'll go all out against you!' ability he can absorb damage above a threshold for a limited time, the 'Entertain me, why don't you!' ability absorbed all damage from attacks made of 4 or less combos for a limited time, the 'I'll prove the power of technomancy!' ability absorbs all damage from attacks made of 5 or less combos, the '...extract your magic completely!' ability absorbs all damage from attacks above a threshold. Outright claims he's going to take his foes' magic with the lines: 'Let me harvest your magic!' and '...extract your magic completely!'
- Poison Manipulation: (He is the poison scientist after all...): Gaslowe was able to release a miasma across the forest of the Blue Flowerdragon Starling that was able to overpower Starling's ability to purify the poison and also caused them to start to 'fall apart', the same miasma was able to erode Asgard's soul as well as send him into a wild fury. The 'Let's battle, then!' ability created Poison Orbs, the 'Liquid Potion' ability transformed all Orbs into other Orbs including Poison Orbs, the 'Poisonous Potion' ability creates 3 Poison Orbs from other Orbs, the 'If you want what's inside these vials...' ability created skyfall Poison Orbs, the 'Poison Potion' ability transforms 4 Orbs into Poison Orbs, the 'Let me harvest your magic!' ability transforms 5 Orbs into Poison Orbs, the ability 'If you want your magic power back...' makes skyfall Poison Orbs, the 'Chaos Potion' can transform Orbs into Poison Orbs.
- Soul Manipulation: Being under the effects of Gaslowe's Miasma was eroding Asgard's very soul
- Empathic Manipulation: Being under the effect of Gaslowe's Miasma was also driving Asgard into a wild fury
- Transmutation (This ties into the Poison Manipulation a LOT): The 'Liquid Potion' ability transformed all Orbs into all Orb Types including Poison Orbs, the 'Poisonous Potion' ability creates 3 Poison Orbs from other Orbs, the 'Poison Potion' ability transforms 4 Orbs into Poison Orbs, the 'Let me harvest your magic!' ability transforms 5 Orbs into Poison Orbs, the 'Dark Potion' ability transforms 4 Orbs into Dark Orbs, the 'Sphere Potion' ability makes a spinner orb that rotates the Orb type, the 'Chaos Potion' ability transforms Orbs into Light, Dark, Heal, and Poison Orbs.
- Power Nullification: The 'Here I come!' ability negates the Awoken Skills of all foes for a limited time, the 'Isn't it magnificent?' makes all foes' active skills unusable for a limited time
- Damage Reduction: The 'You certainly lived up to my expectations!' ability reduced incoming damage by 50% for a limited time, the 'Entertain me, why don't you!' ability reduced incoming damage by 75% for a limited time, the 'Entertain me some more!' ability reduces incoming damage by 80% for a limited time, the 'Heehee...' ability reduces incomming damage by '90%' for a limited time, the '...will fulfil my lifelong wish at last!' ability reduces all incoming damage by 50% for a limited time
- Statistics Amplifications: The 'Hehehehe...' ability increases Attack by 1.5x for a limited time,
- Statistics Reduction: The 'Hehehe...' ability reduced all foes' Attack by 50% for a limited time, the '...then you'll have to take it by force!' ability reduces all foes' Attack by 90% for a limited time, the 'I will defeat you all, and then...' ability reduces all foes' Attack by 75%
- Negation of Transmutation: The 'Chain Potion' ability locks Orbs preventing them from being transformed,
- Negation of Poison Manipulation (Weirdly...): The 'Hehe...' ability prevented Poison Orbs from being used for a limited time,
- Resistance to Status Effects: The 'Activating this magic machine...' gives them a Status Shield to block status effects for a limited time
- Resistance to Cosmic Radiation and Extreme Cold: Gaslowe joins the Great Witches in space for the final battle, but is not notably affected by being in space itself
- Resistance to Black Hole Creation and Gravity Manipulation: Gaslowe joins the Great Witches in space to witness the battle with Big Bang. He is not at all notably affected by Big Bang's singularity or its gravity increasing as the battle continues
- Self Sustenance Type 1: Gaslowe joins the Great Witches in space for the final battle against Big Bang, but is not notably affected by the lack of air in space
- Limited Immortality Type 2/Endurance: 'Super Resolve' can allow Gaslowe to survive a normally fatal blow. In desperation to complete the plan Gaslowe expelled all of the magic out of his body to power his machine to summon Big Bang which the Great Witches plead with him not to do because it would destroy his soul and his body just like what happened to Gilles Legato, however despite the fact his body should be turning to dust, Gaslowe hangs on to watch the final battle with 'The One that Writhes in the Void' and 'Zero Dimension Creator, Big Bang' without showing any signs of struggling and after the defeat of Big Bang he is pulled through the interdimensional wormhole, never officially dying onscreen (in before 'Somehow, Gaslowe Returned' memes)
- Magic: Gaslowe was born with a small amount of magic, he was able to infuse his magic into his machinery and science to develop Technomancy, and was able to cause Gremory's magic to 'run wild' and begin to pour out of her body
- Summoning: Was able to create devices that allowed him to summon Cthulu, Azathoth, Big Bang, and likely Nyarlethotep and the Jabberwock.
- Dimensional Travel: Was able to breach Saline's Space-Time gate to attack her by surprise, could open portals to summon various other monsters through
- Stealth Mastery (Gaslowe's slippery as an eel...): Was able to watch the battle between Zela and the Archfiend to steal their magic and go unnoticed by everyone but the Fairy King and still managed to get away without his identity revealed, he would steal power from Madoo and her Staff of Triumph and Seal without her or her allies noticing him at all, was able to infiltrate Gillest Legato's estate and catch everyone by surprise despite Lilith being able to detect magical signatures and having been on patrol and Reeche's ability to sense and detect souls
- Social Influencing: Was able to manipulate Madoo by playing into her power-hungry nature, convincingly faked that their battle was a draw, and coerced her to continue seeking out specific seals to complete her own Seal while pretending he was simply a bored traveler who wanted a friendly spar.
- Preparation (And HOW): Is implied to have summoned Nyarlethotep which their presence caused the Archfiend's power to stir inside of Zela leading to the opportunity he had to steal power from them both. Presented himself as a bored traveler to Madoo, faked a draw with her, and gave her a gift with Flemin to manipulate her into finding the correct seals to finish her own seal to give him the opportunity to steal power from her Staff of Triumph when it was completed. Released his Miasma on the forest and stole magic from Gilles Legato to manipulate Reeche into a position where she would use the seals she gathered to create the blue rose, which he would then steal, Rechee even notes that she was suspicious that he had orchestrated the entire thing. Was able to develop his Technomancy to the point where he could open dimensional gates to allow him to breach Saline's Space-Time Gate, something she believed was not possible, and to summon various dangerous and powerful monsters up to, and including, Big Bang
Gaslowe's absorption of other character's magic makes him much more powerful than normal in this plotline, building in strength until his final defeat and the magic is taken from him, ending with his admittance that he's no match for the Great Witches despite how well he did earlier in the plot.
Gaslowe is a High 4-C character in the scaling chain, and even with the above assist revision we still would not scale him any higher than that. But with his Absorption, I think he deserves a new justification.
- Gaslowe does NOT fight Zela or the Archfiend, he remains hidden when stealing that power. The Archfiend itself scales into the 2-C feats
- Gaslowe, who by now has the power from Zela and the Archfiend, is able to force a draw in his duel with Madoo who is both an experienced and powerful Great Witch, but also has Ohm with her who scales to the 2-C feats
- Gaslowe, who now has power from both Zela and Madoo as well as their respective seals, steals even more magic from Gilles Legato before he directly battles Reeche and all of her allies, and Reeche also had her hat Frow. Reeche outright admits she's not strong enough for this matchup as Gaslowe takes the advantage, forcing her to infuse her seal. Gaslowe is still able to keep up with Reeche's team and safely flees the battle with the power of the Blue Roses by the end of it.
-Gaslowe crashes into Saline's Space-Time Gate and fights all the Great Witches at once, each equipped with their magic hats and what remains of the power of their Seals, alongside Saline who still has her full seal and her hat Kohza. They still can't beat Gaslowe and he's able to swipe the fifth seal
-Their next battle with Gaslowe goes much the same, the girls have to regroup and take him on with teamwork, and are forced to steal the seal back from Gaslowe. It's only AFTER losing it that he admits that he does not believe he can defeat the Great Witches anymore.
Gaslowe employed more stealth and trickery early on, used his hax to steal power for himself, and was able to more directly compete with the girls who scaled much higher than himself, and upon losing that power he admitted defeat and that he could not win. So I think Gaslowe should get a new addition to his tiering: "up to 2-C with absorption". This way these feats don't scale back to his base, which they shouldn't, but we outline how powerful we know he can go if given suitable targets or prep time.
Intelligence:
Gaslowe is a smart cookie, and I believe he should now be rated at least as an 'Extraordinary Genius' after the events of this plotline.
-He was already a scientist who experimented greatly with poisons and toxins, which he still displays his great amount of skill with in this plotline too by frequently using potions and toxin related abilities. (See above...So, so many...)
-His history with technomancy and infusing his magic into technology that he developed is so impressive that Madoo, a witch who is at least 7 years into her experience being a 'Great Witch', finds it incredible
-He shows himself to be a skilled manipulator by presenting himself as unthreatening, friendly, and helpful to Madoo while coercing her through her desires to play into his hand.
-He shows tremendous combat skill. Madoo was a 'Great Witch' for at least 7 years and valued gaining more strength 'since infancy', she roamed often to defeat foes in search of Seals worthy of her time, discarding many before the events of the plot. Despite both her power, skill, and experience, Gaslowe was able to force a draw in their duel convincingly (implying he could have possibly won had he desired to) to keep his manipulation going. He would later have the strong advantage against each and every one of the Great Witches, putting Reeche and her allies on the defensive and forcing her to infuse her seal and eventually make the Blue Rose, having complete advantage over Veroah, and was able to combat all the Great Witches together at the same time, which would now include Zela alongside the Archfiend, who she herself is a martial artist and a witch so powerful and skilled she'd impressed Madoo earlier. Not bad for a gangly plague doctor in a nice suit.
-His preplanning had a ton of moving gears as shown back up in the preparation section of abilities, he was manipulating many groups of people to play off each other and work towards power to continuously take it for himself
-His technology allowed him to breach the Time-Space Gate of Saline, something she didn't believe was possible, and allowed him to open dimensional rifts to allow him to summon beings from between dimensions, as well as claiming that they could 'manipulate the dimensions' meaning they were on a scale as far-reaching as other dimensions of their multiverse. It is only implied, but he likely also created the many robotic guards the girls fight as a boss gauntlet while they track him down. (I understand that's less impressive, but it's noteworthy)
Gaslowe's intelligence reached the point of him being able to apply both magic and devices of his own creations to affect the boundaries of dimension and allow for dimensional travel, which has already hit futuristic sci-fi levels of smart, but the variety of what he's done with his science research (robotics, technomancy, poisons, dimensional travel), his manipulations, his planning, and combat skill show he also has a wide range in his capabilities, so I believe this bump is very warranted.
Stamina:
I'm not going to repeat it all in-depth because you've already read it all and you're likely sick of reading this far into the CRT, but Gaslowe's stamina should just mention that he was able to keep up with the Witches and their allies when he was on their level, occasionally having back-to-back rounds of combat with them (1 time against all 5 at once) and could keep going, as well as how long he survived with his magic expelled which should have dusted his body and destroyed his soul. The lanky science boy clearly does cardio day because he kept going like a champ.
Part 4: The TLDR, you're almost there
1. All characters with assists need their assists actually mentioned in justifications for the power that they have on their page. It's character specific if it's enough for a tier bump or not.
2. All the character with pages on the wiki who showed up in this plot should have any new abilities they used mentioned.
3. Gaslowe is a smart boi with a lot of abilities and some hax that let him power up. These all need listed.
I thank you so much for sticking with me to get this far into the CRT, this got quickly out of control because while I don't think a lot of this is complicated (not like justifying new stats can be), it was just lengthy. So many characters need what amount to minor updates, with Gaslowe being the only BIG offender of going through a ton of updates. I understand this has probably been a time investment for anyone reading this and I can't thank you enough.
...And I will thank you by letting you know, there's already 3 more CRTs planned for this verse because other stuff needs done, but we'll get there as we get there. 1 of those is thankfully pretty easy. The other 2 will be long...Not complicated, again, just long...
