Questions regarding plasma, laser and other "light beams"

1. While we somehow have guidelines of defining what is a laser attack and what is not, do we have similar guidelines of determining a plasma attack?

2. I have read that Electric ions in the plasma propelled from a plasma engine travel at 180,000 km/h, that is 50,000 m/s or Mach 145.77. I am not so comfortable about the source, but should that be added as real life plasma travel speed?

I've actually wondered this myself. Stitch for example, always dodges plasma blasts but I was shocked to see he only had hypersonic reactions.

I believe this is because fictional plasma feats suffers the same proof of doubt as fictional laser feats.


Btw yeah we have some vague guidelines in calculating plasma feats but I want to see if we should expland the explanation.

Speed isn't a property of plasma, that rocket engine fires plasma at high speeds because it was built to do so, and those speeds are achieved by a cyclotron, not because something about plasma makes it fast.

Plasma can be effectively stationary, it's just a form of matter. Having a speed related rule on what counts as real plasma would be like having a rule on what speed you get for being a real solid.
