Looking at Phoenix Jean's notes it appears to me that someone is scaled off this?

This is completely false. Yes, Necrom used the Phoenix to connect to infinite Earth to created the Matrix energy but the rest is false.


1. The matrix energy did not create Otherworld. Otherworld already existed along before the matrix energy. It is heavily implied Gaea created Otherworld as an inner place of the Marvel multiverse since Avalon was another name for Otherworld. Merilyn used the matrix energy to establish the Starlight Citadel which is a nexus of creations and the Captain Britain Corps.

2. When the Chaos wave came into the picture the matrix energy was gone. Meggan used the matrix energy to destroy the main tower which began to collapse on infinite Earths.

3. What Megan used was the magic of Otherworld to block the Chaos wave or seal the hole from getting bigger. Roma also switched to it when the matrix energy faded. It was stated that Otherworld is the source of magic

4. As shown in the scan above Roma switched from using the matrix energy to the magic of Otherworld. Proven again below the matrix is no more so she uses the magic of Otherworld. Captain Britain uses a suit that still metabolizes the matrix energy. Roma had to fix him up so he absorbs the magic of Otherworld like the rest of the corps. Also when Roma faced the Chaos Wave head on she was completely defeated. I don't think using the magic of Otherworld to seal a hole should fully scale to the Chaos Wave. Roma who was at full power and uses the magic of Otherworld got washed.

Excalibur #50 Meggan used the matrix energy to destroy the tower alimented which focused magical energy from every Earth in the multiverse. Merlyn stated without it the Matrix will fade and energy will be limited.

Excalibur #65 The Matrix energy began to collapse upon itself later returning the energy through infinite planes once more. Roma stated the energy of Otherworld will sustain her, the corps, and Starlight Citadel like the matrix energy did. Roma also stated the Matrix energy is no more as she changes Captain Britain's suit that was designed to absorbed Matrix energy to the energy of Otherworld.

It was later stated that Otherworld's magical energy is pan-dimensional as Meggan used it to closed the hole in reality from the chaos wave.
