I think the issue is more of if he's allowed to make future appeals, which I dont see why that should happen, though i havent experienced how the guy is like first hand. How are we like 9 pages in since the appeal and still have no verdict? He has made multiple sockpuppets, used aggressive behavior in general, made a rant to AKM sama, and probably more. This has gotten to the point where the spoiled kid got caught by the teacher for cheating multiple times and gets expelled, but the student tries to keep on denying that he didn't cheat and asks for another chance, that he will never cheat again. And now, the faculty and staff are involved in judging the verdict if he should be kept expelled or not. The votes are in favor of keeping him expelled. In this case, keeping him banned. Shouldn't this be a wrap by now?
Yeah it's about outside stuff, but I think that's even more indicative that people can change given enough time.If this is just about regular life outside the site, it's of no concern to me.
I'm pointing out how you're appealing to "the rules", when in reality, you're appealing to your own subjective opinions on how our punishments should happen. You're being pedantic, and I hope not intentionally. In what world do we let a permabanned user who has made constant rejected appeals that amounted to "pretty please?" with empty promises just because... he did so again?
From my experience, a lot of them have been like this. A permabanned user comes back a few years later, says they've changed as a person, and asks for an unban. It's comparatively much rarer for them to be something like, it being demonstrated that they were banned under false pretenses.Permaban appeals rarely even happen, and when they do, it's for a damn good reason

Which wasn't including me, and I land more in the latter camp (with not wanting an unban now, but being open to one after a further year or two of no offences).I believe the margin is 6 - 5 actually, although I may be mistaken.
6 - Me, Glass, DDM, Damage, Crab, Prop
5 - Bambu, Ant, Finepoint, Reiner, Kingtempest
And it's not our job to monitor that. And again... Constant trend of broken promises hereYeah it's about outside stuff, but I think that's even more indicative that people can change given enough time.
So you're being intentionally pedantic, got it. Because that's the only conclusion one can come to if your response is "if the rules do not specifically say this exactly then you're not appealing to the rules."I'm pointing out how you're appealing to "the rules", when in reality, you're appealing to your own subjective opinions on how our punishments should happen.
And we shouldn't humor these things. You don't see this in people getting permabanned from Discord servers for example. Especially in this case where he demonstrably hasn't changedFrom my experience, a lot of them have been like this. A permabanned user comes back a few years later, says they've changed as a person, and asks for an unban. Yes. I banned them.
It was pretty funny, I'll admit.Yes. I banned them.
It was rather funny high-effort satirical trolling though.![]()
One example:Yes. I banned them.

It's because of [idiots] like you that schools now make kids read total FODDERVERSES like the Great Gatsby or the Grapes of Wrath and not TRUE TOP TIER VERSES like Marvel, DC, SCP, World of Darkness or the works of HP Lovecraft, the most brilliant and intelligent mind of the 21st century and a man I aspire to be everyday!
Well, given that they just made the account, and the name is just random letters, and that is their very first post, and that they seem to be mocking our community, I highly doubt they intend on doing anything else.I am honestly not sure if it was a good idea to ban that troll, or if we should just give him a strict warning to stop.![]()
I know I slept past the discussion, but I'm of this opinion. I don't necessarily know if listing me as an agreement was a mistake or purposeful, but it's a light enough fumble either way. That's fair. I'd be in favor of a light warning too, if only to promote attentiveness.
What do our other staff members here think?I am honestly not sure if it was a good idea to ban that troll, or if we should just give him a strict warning to stop.
I think that's reasonable.Okay. So just a 1 month ban and a warning to stop trolling, not a permanent block then?![]()
So I was talking to astral. And it seems that his ban is still 3 months. Wasn’t there a discussion for an additional 3 months? Shouldn’t 2 additional months be added since about a month has passed since his ban? Or was the ban still just 3 months
It seems like it was indeed decided to extend it by three months.Guess case is concluded then. Now the following needs to be done:
Discussion Rule that needs to be added:
- Extend Astral's ban by 3 months.
- Discussion rule regarding ban on the use of human edited MTL for the verse unless approved by our TL members or someone fluent in Japanese.
- Reverting the changes made by Astral, preferably where he used MTLs or edited MTLs, including deletion of cosmology page temporarily (as it is entirety of Astral's Translation)
I'm guessing it's an oversight (and should be corrected.)I just checked his wiki account is banned until June 16, but his forum ban lasts until September. Any reason for the difference?
We probably simply forgot to lengthen his wiki ban.I just checked his wiki account is banned until June 16, but his forum ban lasts until September. Any reason for the difference?
Given the gibberish username, and lack of other contributions, I'm happy with any ban of at least a month. I don't think they were seriously engaging, so we should get them out for a bit, but I think there's a reasonable chance of them seriously engaging at some point in the future.
Okay. So just a 1 month ban and a warning to stop trolling, not a permanent block then?![]()
I handled it.I think that's reasonable.
If that were the case then it wouldn’t be in the rules.Yeah, this is why we don't take your opinions into account. Literally only you care about these "issues" and here you are attacking people who have much bigger things to worry about.
No CRT needed for this.Yeah, I'm not doing that. Make a CRT for it or stop telling me how to make updates to the verse page.
To be fair, this is for the Pokemon Verse, which has heaps of official art stemming from the games, anime screencaps, TCG etc. while the Verse page on the wiki has been using uncredited fanart since likely the beginning. Theres no real reason to be using fanart anymore, its just going to be a huge task to replace every non-official image for the hundreds of pages Pokemon as a Verse has. So its seemingly preferred from the people who have commented so far that we shouldn't really opt to be using fanart in the first place anymore.Nobody’s telling you can’t use the Fan-art (assuming the consensus is that it’s superior to the official art), you just have to give credit. It’s literally that simple, I truly don’t know why #
I also support an official warning.Considering that the user is knowingly refusing to follow site policy, I support a warning.
You're really playing the victim in all of this? You really ran to the mods the second I told you you're lucky I didn't report you for vandalism?Hey, i dont really want to be instigating this still, but theres more issues regarding the Pokemon verse
The user Super_Ascended_Sean_Pazdera is continuing to use uncredited fanart on the Pokemon Verse page, despite it being against the rules.
I had dropped a message in the Pokemon Discussion thread regarding it and the removal of a QoL edit to the Verse i made ages ago, asking them not to keep adding onto the issue until users have the time to change everything since the majority of the Pokemon Verse is the use of stolen/uncredited fanart. This was something talked about before, but obviously it will be a huge dedication of time in replacing all of those images amongst the other goings-on with the Pokemon Verse, which it would be appreciated if we could plug the problem for now as opposed to continually using fanart
This has now caused yet another argument regarding the said user, who refuses to stop using the uncredited fanart despite me and others telling him multiple times it is not something we want to keep adding onto for whenever it can be fixed. Could a mod tell him directly please that this is against the rules, because i feel he's just being stubborn about it because its coming from me.
The edit where hes continuing to add uncredited fanart over official sources: https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Pokémon?diff=9020227&oldid=8986033
Im not a victim of anything, although 'you're lucky i didnt report you for vandalism' (which i didnt do) sounds a bit threateningYou're really playing the victim in all of this? You really ran to the mods the second I told you you're lucky I didn't report you for vandalism?
I'm not refusing, it just is a huge task to replace all this fanart thats been present since the beginning of the page's creation. It takes a lot of picture farming, downloading, and replacing for most of the current profiles. And right now, irl, i havent got time to do all that on my own.Users won't "have time to change everything", because nobody is working on the issue at all, and you are refusing to do it yourself, so what you are asking me to do is just not add profiles to the verse page for all eternity... and that's IF such a massive change won't need a CRT.
This isnt about disdain or personal grudge. The point is, fanart shouldnt be exploited and used without its creators' permission for this site because its not only part of the rules, but immoral.I'm not refusing to stop using uncredited fanart. I'm refusing to do things solely because you tell me to because of the pure distain you have towards anything I do. The Editing Rules say, "while Fan art can serve as a suitable alternative to official art in instances where the mentioned is of inferior quality or fails to capture the essence or details of the characters or subjects effectively". Pokemon has a unique issue, because 99% of all the good official art for a profile belongs in their Gallery instead of being suitable for the verse page's icon. Even in the edit you just gave, I used official art for Pikachu (PokePark)'s icon because an official artwork was perfect for it. In fact, there IS no fanart of The Mech (or regular art), so I just used the same picture as in the profile.
And that was initially fine, I just wanted to let you know that it is against the rules to keep using uncredited fanart, i didnt intend to punish or berate you about it because the page still has tons of taken fanart. Onlt that it is preferable if you could not contribute to that current problem (While also reversing a useful QoL edit i made a year ago for the sake of it). Its when it suddenly became an argument, and you refused to stop taking peoples fanart without their permission and credit despite knowing it is against the rules.I never "continued", that was just the one edit where I did that, which sparked the whole argument in the first place and came prior to you telling me what to do. Stop spinning this like I've repeatedly gone and done my own thing multiple times.
There is plenty of very clear shots from the movie which can simply be rendered, but we probably shouldn't clutter this thread with specific debate on specific art since it's not the focus.there IS no fanart of The Mech (or regular art)
