She isn't pulling a Genjutsu off before getting smacked. Also Kai doesn't have any Chakra to manipulate, as we don't equalize Quirks with Chakra due to the mechanics, similarly to how we do with Haki. It's genetic, nothing spiritual or energy based. So ye, Kai kinda pokes her and gives her the Eri treatment.

i forgot She had genjutsu lol. THis may go either way then. He has the size and range advantage, while Sarada has pre cog and genjutsu and Kai can also one shot with his hax. It depends if she starts off with genjutsu.. She most likely will with someone of that size so my vote has changed Sarada one shots lol

to be fair, I don't remember her using genjutsu off the bat, so that does give Kai an opening.

also, @Knight Sharingan genjutsu works by you pumping you chakra into them so Genjutsu would work.

Also just saying, Kai has fought people with precog in the past before, such as Sir Night Eye. Sadara would need to use a Genjutsu right off the bat to even have a chance at beating Kai. Especially whenever Kai always goes for hax for his first movie in character.

I don't think Kai's character ever changed with the transformation. If I remember correctly, he simply never got the chance to disassemble his opponents directly.
