Melanie has spent lost of the time practicing her magic and her new powers that she got from that strange Gourmand, while also doing several different things with the other Choosen. At most she had sparring matches with them, where she focused on her sword skills and her various abilities that were a...little more difficult to use. Specifically her way to put people to sleep and her stamina spells.
She had little progress learning any new spells, though, as she was only able to get basic elemental spells down. Even then she could only control such minor amounts of the chosen elements that it was hard to put it into combat, and it was infuriating. She wanted to get better at this, but she was having difficulty in doing so.
She hadn't bothered to think about any of the awkward situations she may or may not have had over the few weeks. Thoughts of her team members filled her mind constantly, and some...were admittedly more explicit than others. Those thoughts she pushed down to the inner recesses of her mind, and chose not to dwell on lest her training and studies were to be interrupted. Those are thoughts that would never become a reality. She had dreams she knew would not come true, and due to this she was getting more infuriated with herself each second.
"You're here to save the world, not to make friends or relationships." It's what she always told herself in the passing days. As days became weeks, thoughts were harder to ignore, and the sheer amount of homesick she was feeling made her awful. She longed for a warm embrace of someone who loved her; or just to be among the company of those that she enjoyed.
Obviously she chose to become acquainted with most, though some were more difficult than others. Boris And Kisetsu being the more difficult ones to approach. However, Kisetsu made it up by being adorably innocent. Boris was just...odd. Every minute spent around him was too much stimulus for her to handle.
Even with relationships forming she knew it'd never get to the point where a hug was acceptable, where she could do anything more than a couple friendly gestures, but she could dream. She longed for affection but replaced it with just locking herself in her room and practicing spells a decent chunk of the time, coming out for required interaction or to eat or to feed her frogs.
Thats where she ultimately was now. She was eating some food at the kitchen. Well, food wasn't really the word she'd use to describe it. It's pieces of metal she broke off from her room walls a couple days ago because she was hungry. She just chose to enjoy it in the kitchen because maybe she'd have some company. All the same, she felt bored and lonely.
