what do we consider as secondary canon here and when can it be applied if needed? i always get a bit confused determining things as primary secandary etc..

Id assume primary canon is like the main source material (manga, game, etc) would like director statements be secondary then?

Case by case, but the main source material in its native language is the primary canon for basically any work. Translated localizations are secondary compared to native originals. Likewise, databooks, promotional materials, and author statements are also secondary next to the work.

Would author or screenwriter qna also be secondary then?
