I would consider Super Sonic a boss-like character. I don't think Friend Heart would work on Sonic.

Even though it's Game Mechanic, if it doesn't work 100%, it might not work on Sonic.

Optional Equipment means that Sonic resurrects a good amount of times if he dies, though making contact with a Friend Heart will definitely screw him over due to being far above his paygrade.
