SPOILERS: Doctor Sleep & Character Profiles

So I just came from a showing of Doctor Sleep, I know nothing of the book, but the movie had a lot of good feats and abilities for mostly 3 big characters.

Warning - Spoilers Ahead

Rose the Hat

Abra

Dan/Danny Torrance

Now the all seem to have similar powers for the most part but some have better showings than others.


I will post each character's abilities seperately in each post below.

Let's start with the seemingly weakest link, but in terms of showing, is possibly the most powerful of them all.

Dan/Danny

He has shown the following:

9-C Durability or High Stamina: Was able to not only survive from having a major artery in his leg being cut open and loosing most of his blood, but he was able to run around the hotel with an axe in hand without any problems right after. He has also been in bar fight on a semi-common basis.

-Some Brawling Skills: Bar fights were common in his flashbacks and handily won dispite being completely shit-faced.

-Weapon Mastery: was able to gun down most of the trueknots with a hunting rifle with ease, was constantly fixing his positioning with a fire axe and easily broke through Rose's defense from the axe.

-Can See Ghosts: Could see Dick Hallorann's ghost while Wendy and others could not.

-Sealing: His most used ability in the whole movie. He was able to seal Ghosts casually and nearly succeeded in Sealing Rose the Hat's mind in his own. This only failed due to Rose having absorbed two other people's steam before the battle and therefore having a stronger psychic power. This obviously means if Dan is going against someone without resistance or is comparable to him, he just seals their mind inside of his and calls it a day.

-Possibly Empathy Manipulation: Was able to comfort those who were dying, even making them remember happy times in their lives before they passed.

-Possession: Dan was able to possess both Abra and partially possessed The Crow's hands at the same time, Abra was channeling him directly with his mannerisms and his blue eyes and the Crow's hands were forced to swerve the steering wheel.

-Telepathy: Can directly talk to people in their head and can read their mind and see their memories.

-Astral Projection: Was able to project himself dozens if not hundreds of miles away to Abra.

-Psychometry: Was able to tell a man where he left his watch, dispite the man having never seen how he lost it.

-Resistance to Possession: SPOILER: He was able to brefly hold off being possessed from ALL the spirits of the house. Yes all of them at once, though he could only do so with extreme effort and good motivation. He was able to stop himself from killing Abra and was able to stop himself from fixing the Hotel's Boiler.

-Summoning: By far, the most potent of ALL his abilties. Big Spoiler Here: He can summon ALL the Ghosts he sealed to attack someone who has a stronger Psychic power than him. All the ghosts EASILY overpowered and killed Rose the Hat in a matter of seconds. This isn't going to be too commonly used but if he is fighting other Psychics, this is his Final Gambit

Next is Abra, the Shinning Star of the movie.

She has shown the following:

-Knife Proficiency: Was able to use a knife to cut up Rose the Hat a few times.

-Can See Ghosts: Is able to see close loved one who have died while others could not.

-Mind Manipulation: Was able to both enter peoples minds and push herself and others into someone else's mind. Damage done to your mental persona transfers to damage to your physical body.

-Telepathy: Casually was able to read minds, talk to other in their heads, and even inject images or memories from her mind into others.

-Astral Projection: Was able to project herself into Rose The Hat's mind.

-Telekinesis: Was able to levitated dozens of spoons causually when she was younger.

-Perception Manipulation: Was able to make over 8 people see a teddy bear as herself all at once and made herself disappear from Rose the Hat's vision.

-Psychometry: Was able to know all the past events that has involved an object and track those who have ever made contact with it in the current moment.

-Sealing: Toward the end of the movie Abra was implied to have sealed away another ghost from the hotel in her mind.

-Resistance to Mind Manipulation: Abra No-Sells every single attempt for Rose and Other Shiners to get in her head or influence her.
