La portée d'un stand doit être interprétée comme sa portée « efficace ». Au moment où un Stand sort de Range, il ne perd pas sa puissance ; la « Range » est plutôt la Range dans laquelle le Stand peut fonctionner efficacement dans une gradation de puissance progressivement décroissante.
En même temps dans le manga, dans le désert, il y avait une sorte de « saut temporel » d'heures/jours pour accomplir un certain voyage, et le roman se déroule dans le désert...
Pour étayer et prouver ce principe au sein du manga, il est dit (lorsque Star Platinum a été retiré de Jotaro) que Jotaro est « mort », plutôt que ni mort ni vivant, mais seule Jolyne (sa fille) affirme que s'il retrouvait son Stand, il « reviendrait à la vie ».
