In Super Mario 64, Mario can collect up to 150 power stars, how powerful would this make him?

Around the galaxy level. Probably not multi-galaxy because the variation between galaxy and multi-galaxy is more than five hundred times.
Iirc the 3-C is for Grand Stars, not regular Power Stars
No, it's for regular Power Stars. The Power Star's page isn't listing the Grand Star (if it were, the Power Star would be Low 2-C), Grand Star has a separate individual page.

but than again it takes 20 power stars, just to open a door, up to 80 just to unlock a staircase, and all 150, just to open up a cannon

@NAMF Green Stars are listed on the same level as the Power Stars. Idk what to say about the Shine Sprites, though.

Also what about the total of stars in Super Mario Galaxy, where there are a total of 121 stars to collect for each Mario and Luigi (for a total of 242)?

If you count 3d world, there are 380 Green Stars in Super Mario 3D World, 242 in Galaxy series and 150 in 64.

I'm specifically and exclusively talking about 3D world, given that they don't use Power Stars, btw. Also, Mario doesn't keep Power Stars across games.
