Extreme Example: Warriors of Fate has altered the plots of Tenchi wo Kurau 2: Sekiheki no Tatakai. The plot of Tenchi wo Kurau 2: Sekiheki no Tatakai is roughly based on Tenchi wo Kurau manga, while the plot of Warriors of Fate is based on:
