as I realize that in-character Mufasa and Firestar would actually just become friends...

Incon. Both are intangible, with one being a Cloud and the other being a Spirit. Mufasa lack nonphysical interaction, while Firestars comes from being able to kill spirits, not Gases/Liquids like Mufasa. Firestar is capable of Weather Manipulation, but to what degree is rated as unknown, while Mufasa is capable of mountain-level Environmental Destruction with his own. Even if Firestar kills Mufasa via Weather Manip, too much is unknown about Ghost Mufasa. Is he an actual spirit? Is he invisible? Can he manifest within any clouds, or just one cloud? He has teleportation- does that mean he can teleport to another cloud?

tl;dr- Too much is unknown about both characters for a good matchup. Neither could kill the other anyways. Inconclusive.

I mean once simba realizes he can't hurt his opponent he will likely go on the defensive and try talking it out if that isn't his starting move so incon maybe scar with knowledge his only win con is broadway force is fairer as he would likely mock firestar first. Making it a short game of cat and mouse.

I mean being fair, the workings of spirits are a little weird in The Lion King as a whole. Mufasa's spirit took on the form of clouds in The Lion King, yet in The Lion King 2, Mufasa's spirit didn't look as cloudy (in fact, he was literally shown as a spirit in the clouds).:

Scar's spirit, on the other hand, manifested as fire in The Lion Guard.

Sorry, taunting Firestar doesn't really work, it might work on say Tigerstar, but Dark Forest tigerstar is quite bloodlusted and would just monologue and then try to kill Scar, and before you say it, no Tigerstar isn't the usual villian of monologue and get nothing done, he wouldn't have the body count he does have in warriors if he did. Basically every warrior worth their salt taunting doesn't really work on, there are exceptions, but Firestar(arguably the most level-headed thunderclan cat, next to maybe Brakenfur) most certainly isn't one of them.
