Ultralisk vs Cyborg Commando (Tiberian Sun)

One of the Zerg Swarms heavy-hitters vs Nod's ultimate cyborg.

This will be the Tiberian Sun variant of the Cyborg Commando (so no OL-71 "Pilum" Laser, Infiltration module, or vehicle hijacking).

Battle takes place near a Tiberium field so Cyborg Commando can heal if necessary. I'm fairly certain Ultralisks would not be to badly affected by Tiberium since they can survive in space.
 
Though I admittedly do not know much about the Command and Conquer franchise, unless Cyborg Commando can down an Ultralisk in one or two shots, I doubt he could win this. The Ultralisk's vastly superior speed would allow it to quickly run down its target. Considering its range is smaller than the Ultralisk itself, it would almost certainly need to rely on its Infiltration module. Its Plasma cannon sounds similar to a Siege Tank round, which has been shown to not do very much to the ultra. How long can Cyborg Commando stay in stealth? If it is a long time or unlimited time I don't think Cyborg could lose, since the Ultralisk is mindless and would probably just start rampaging before being gunned down. If it is a short time and/or he can't get out of the Ultra's way in time, the ultra wins; I couldn't see healing mattering when a Kaiser Blade would probably just cleave straight through the Cyborg's entire body. I need more info about Cyborg tbh. Like stated above: If he has unlimited stealth/ long term stealth, he wins. If he has limited stealth/ isn't fast enough to get out of the charging path of the ultra, the ultra wins.
 
@Aparajita Though imposing, size doesn't mean everything here. Even though I think an Ultra would take this fight, some characters considered low tier in their verse would easily destroy an Ultra. For example, a Saibame would be able to kill an Ultra easily, despite one being trash tier in their verse and the other being high tier. Cyborg commando is similar in power and durability to an Ultralisk, so it could be a viable matchup.
 
I understand that, Waffle. What i'm saying is that the Ultralisk, if you watch further into the video, tanks shells from the Siege Tank like a champ and those are calibered at 170mm. I've played C&C and i don't know of anything that contains that kind of firepower.
 
Alright. Do you think Cyborg Commando's stats are incorrect and need revision then? He is currently listed at High 8-C. I am no expert on C&C so I have no opinion here.

I haven't seen many in-game feats of the Cyborg Commando, but i believe their scaling comes from being able to damage the MARV, which may just be in-game balancing.

But regardless, the Cyborg's range is only several meters, one hundred yards at best (surely not the quarter of a mile a Siege Tank can fire), and i have a feeling the Ultralisk is going to tank it's shot like a pro, ignoring Burrow Charge and other abilities of the Ultralisk like torrasque strain which'll give it a Regenerationn and revival bonus or the noxious strain which'll give it a poison-esque cloud and aura, which the Cyborg will be susceptable to being still human (although partially machine, so i guess it's debatable).
 
Ah. Another game mechanics strikes back kinda thing. Kinda like how a group of Marines can kill an Ultra in SC2, but lore wise the Ultra literally takes zero damage from Marine rifles. Also I question the viability of adding the genetic strains into the VS battles, as they seem to be variable and therefore may not be accurate lore wise.

According to the game it's a "what-if" scenario, the options are still there for Kerrigan to choose in canon, and she does have both strains in levels where you see her at, most notably in the Protoss Missions where Artanis is working alongside her.

In 2012 Brian Kindregan (The lead writer for Heart of the Swarm) stated that everything that Blizzard releases except RPGs and mods are cano.
 
I don't think the noxious strain poison would do much to a Cyborg Commando since they are unaffected by Tiberium (which is toxic and radioactive).

And how I got the attack potency was from how they waste Titans in just two hits (and Cyborg Commando fires very rapidly). The Titan can beat the Nod Tick Tanks and was as stated to be an upgrade from the Medium Tank (which appears to be an M1 Abrams) of the First Tiberium War. So basicly Cyborg Commando > Titan > Tank.

Is this all game mechanics or is there any canon/lore statements that support this?
 
For the being immune to Tiberian thing it is stated in the manual that Cyborgs were made from Tiberian mutated humans and that Cyborg Commandos were once Cyborgs that were upgraded after preforming very well. We see the first Tiberium muated humans in Renegade and they heal from contact with Tiberium the same way the Cyborgs and Cyborg Commandos do in Tiberian Sun.

While the Cyborg Commando sadly does not appear in any cut scenes but several missions are set up so you have to use them to take down Titans and other vehciles to be able to progress. The more notable ones include "Protect Waste Convoys", "Escort The Bio-toxin Trucks", and "Villainess In Distress". The entire purpose of the Cyborg Commando is to deal with GDI armor so not being able to take down it's main walker would be silly.
 
Alright, if they had missions designed to show their superiority over another unit, that seems fair. I was just worried it was only game mechanics (a Pheonix in SC2 counters Broodlords, but in lore a Broodlord is too massive to seriously wounded by a Pheonix).
