After all this time, it’s finally happening—well, maybe it’s just me, but I’ve been waiting for this moment. The Ultra Series is diving into some seriously exciting territory, bringing in Acausality Type 4 into the mix.

8GOet89.jpeg

Cases

Ultraman Nexus

Ultraman Nexus possesses the power to alter the outcomes of future events foreseen by precognitive individuals and to open up entirely new possibilities. This includes figures like Dark Zagi, who foresaw that Nagi would become Nexus’s Dunamist, and Yū Kirasawa, the Illustrator, who also holds the ability to see the future.

By transcending the despair-filled vision predicted by the Visitors, Nexus (as Noa) defied fate itself and forged an alternative future—one sparked by humanity’s courage and hope rather than fear.

Ultraman X

Daichi's mother foresaw the Earth's future—a future where the planet and everything on it would perish due to Greeza's destruction. As a result, the Earth was left with no future and was destined for an end without continuation. However, through the Xlugger, she heard a voice from the future: Daichi's voice. It was a voice that would alter the Earth's destined demise and bring hope to all through his light.

Daichi fulfilled his mother's prophecy by changing the fate of Earth. Using the combined light of himself and Ultraman X through the Xlugger, he summoned the powers of countless Kaiju to confront Greeza and ultimately rewrite destiny itself. In the final moment, X hurled the Xlugger at Greeza, triggering a powerful explosion—because Greeza, a being that shouldn’t exist, was torn apart by the very forces of reality rejecting him.

Ultraman Orb

Haruka is no ordinary girl—she has a mysterious gift: the power to dream of kaiju appearances with uncanny precision, foreseeing exactly when, where, and how they’ll strike. Her ability shines brightest when she predicts the arrival of all the Demon Lord kaiju, complete with details of their terrifying powers.

She reveals that these prophetic dreams have haunted her since childhood. Back then, she foresaw her family's fate... and even knew her crush would transfer schools before anyone else. That chapter of her life left her with a painful but deeply rooted belief: no matter what you do, fate cannot be changed.

But then Orb enters her life. With unwavering confidence, he tells Haruka that while the past may be set in stone, the future still holds countless possibilities. That spark of hope is proven real when the seemingly inevitable happens—and doesn’t. Orb defies destiny and survives Hoe’s deadly attack, shattering Haruka's long-held belief and revealing that fate, after all, isn’t absolute.

Ultraman R/B

Mio Minato was taken to another dimension where the flow of time was nonexistent. There, she witnessed countless events unfolding across various times and places, each visualized as floating bubbles. Among them, she saw Katsumi and Isami fleeing and nearly killed by an attack from Grigio. Unable to bear the thought of losing her sons, she gave them the R/B Crystals—items that would alter their destiny and save their lives.

While in that dimension, she foresaw a future in which her sons would perish if they confronted Leugocyte in battle. Unable to bear the thought, she ultimately devised a plan to defeat Leugocyte without involving them in the fight. When a battle with Leugocyte erupted and the foreseen future seemed imminent, she locked her sons' transformation devices, believing she had prevented their deaths—though in truth, she hadn’t actually changed the future.

Katsumi and Isami proclaimed to their mother that the future could be changed—because they were Ultraman, beings who possessed the power to shape destiny. And they proved it: instead of being turned to stone and dying at the hands of Leugocyte, they transformed into Ruebe and altered the outcome.

Conclusion

In the Ultra Series, Ultras are unaffected by predetermined fate and possess actions that cannot be foreseen through precognition—even on a vast scale that encompasses countless potential futures. These are futures that should have happened, but didn’t, thanks to the protective power of an Ultra’s Inner Light. This unique trait grants them Acausality (Type 4) and resistance to both Fate Manipulation and Precognition.

Namun kemudian Orb memasuki hidupnya.

Agree.

Following and in agreement. Defying and changing fate is a pretty common theme across Ultraman. The lyrics of Geed literally go "your chosen story, each time you defy it you build history". I'm sure there'd be more examples if the franchise was combed over.

Seems honest and straightforward yeah. Although I don't know much about the verse.
Based on the descriptions of the feats in the OP, this does seem straightforward.

However, actually looking at the scans, this all seems to imply far more that fate itself is, in actuality, not really a thing in this verse, and that the future can be changed through your actions.

That is to say, this seems to all just be about how a bad future can be avoided by the interference of heroes, not that they're using some kind of hax to literally change fate and probability.

I thought the same thing at first glance, but after examining the many examples, my perspective changed.

Fate can be changed through the actions of the Ultras—but not by ordinary humans. X, Nexus, Orb, and R/B reinforced this idea when they altered destiny to save humanity from impending doom caused by a world-ending threat.

Tsuburaya has also referred to destiny (or fate) as a real force within the Ultra Series, as mentioned in one of their official cards that ties directly into the series’ lore.

Another example is Dyna altering Earth’s fate—preventing it from being consumed by Gransphere—as foretold in a future vision shown to him by his father, Kazuma Asuka, in a dream. In the Ultra Series, dreams are a recognized form of precognition.

Well, from the perspective that a predetermined outcome is likely but not guaranteed, it would make a lot of sense for the super-powered individuals to have the most capacity to make that change as opposed to the regular humans, who, from my understanding, can't really do anything about a world-ending threat.

Humans actually have the capability to do crazy stuff. They can destroy planets and stars with their weapons or even copy an Ultra’s power. Even in Ultraman X and R/B, they created objects powerful enough to fight world-ending threats—though it didn’t work, but you get the pont.

In the end, there are just some things humans can’t do because fate determines the course of events—and that’s where the Ultras come in clutch. They defy fate and shape outcomes that favor justice and hope. And this isn’t far-fetched, considering they can manipulate the narrative to always win battles (as accepted in CRT), or even resist concept-altering powers through their very existence.

Honestly, yeah, I can understand the skepticism, but in my opinion, if we take the assumption that certain futures ARE predetermined through precognition, but the heroes can change it, it definitely seems like some sort of hax.

Maybe it wouldn't be fate manip or anything, but moreso "acausality" instead because they can seemingly alter a future that should be predetermined. (And that the people with precognition can't even foresee this).

I wouldn't be opposed to acausality instead. That does seem more fitting with the seemingly "passive" nature of it.

Then I take it this is better listed as "Acausality Type 4 (Resistance to Fate Manipulation and Precognition)" rather than Fate Manipulation and Probability Manipulation?

Well the parentheses would just be an elaboration on the fact that they regularly are able to influence events which are supposedly predetermined by fate, but yes, something like that.

Agree FRA.

The new proposal looks good to me.

Have you contacted other staff? You need at least one more staff vote for this to be accepted.

Agreed, but this seems more like fate manipulation and resistance to it than Acausality
That WAS the initial idea, but @FinePoint’s arguments changed my mind.
Basically, "Fate Manipulation" implies manipulating fate directly.

Just passively not being bound by fate (and being able to change it as a result) is more fitting for Acausality Type 4.

Yup.

I honestly don’t mind them getting Acausality Type 4, since they already have absurd hax like CM2 and Plot Manipulation.
