yep this is what we’re doing now, and it’s only gonna get worse with the new Indie Cross episodes coming out

The Ghost of Shovels vs Hallownest’s Ghost.

“A stout figure in blue armor, armed with a strange weapon-a shovel. He fights with surprising agility using his tool to both strike and defend.”:
Scales to this; ~0.257 Tons of TNT | ~3.3 AP advantage.

“The mentioned Knight serves as a chosen Vessel fated to imprison the Radiance, thereby safeguarding their kingdom from the insidious threat of Infection.”: @Arceus0x
Scales to this; ~0.078 Tons of TNT | ~3.3 AP disadvantage.

5-B Game Master one shots both:

The Rules
Shovel Knight
has access to his Standard Equipment, as well as the Ichor of Fortune and Renewal.

The Knight’sVoidheart” Key is used.
The Knight has access to the Unbreakable Strength, Thorns of Agony, Baldur Shell, Weaversong, Glowing Womb and Grubsong charms.
The Knight starts with a full SOUL meter.

Speed is equalized.

The fight takes place in a sized up version of the arena within the Colosseum of Fools, and upon death of the Knight, its Shade will be transported to the room left of the Warrior’s pit.

Both combatants start 1 meter apart from each other.

SBA for anything not already mentioned.

Shovel Knight has a massive size advantage but that also means he'd have a harder time hitting the Knight when he maneuvers around him using shade cloak and such. SK has a great AP advantage and is quite tanky but Knight has a reusable healing factor, a way to asborb SK's energy and I unironically think he might just be more skilled. Knight had been trained by several nail masters and has beaten their master. He has dealt with danmaku and wide attacks. SK has one big advantage that would cause issues for Knight and that is the horn which definitely could deal some major damage from up close.
The issue with SK's magic is that it's limited and can be dodged with ease by Knight not only because of the size but also because they are mainly big and clunky attacks with no wide-spread, excpet for the horn.

I think Knight takes this high-diff. He has a clear advantage with the fact that he can escape SK and heal if necessary and can regenerate SOUL by hitting him, something that won't work well for SK who has a limited pool of magic and only has 2 items that can help him restore himself.
Another thing that Knight has that is useful is spells that are way faster than his own combat speed, making it harder for SK to dodge.

To add to this SK will also get assaulted by the tons of critters Knight will spawn with the given items, which also do tons of damage whilst being far harder to hit than Knight is.

I also think Knight might be able to hit through SK's invulnerability ring as it is sorta kinda ghost-based and Knight has fough off shades which are very much incorporeal.
It's also not in character for SK to spam it.

SK being big is a good advantage but at the same time Knight has dealt with the harassment that is the Absolute Radiance's laser+sword spam and we also know Hornet can deal with the likes of GS, which is about as big if not bigger than SK and still got beat up, so giant enemies aren't an issue here.

Overall, I vote for Knight.

Not necessarily, while the Shade does technically have Elemental Intangibility it can still be killed by normal weaponry, the profile even makes note of this.

Plus the shade in general is a non factor due to where the fights taking place

If one party uses their intangibility the other party WILL have to use theirs in order to touch them.

Don't understand why it's enviromental when it literally phases through the ground.

Also, no, it isn't harmed by normal weaponry. It is canon that when you strike with your nail, the white slash is actually aura, meaning The Knight uses aura to strike the opponent, rathe than just the nail.

No like, the normal ass thorns within Greenpath or any of the spikes within Forgotten Crossroads kill it.

Also I dunno about that second one Chief, might need to make a CRT on that one.

Gonna have to put the thread on hold for a bit maybe, I'll try and make it tomorrow if I can.
