Akira Pros:
  • Decentish AP and Durability advantage
  • Notable Lifting Strength advantage

Denji Pros:
  • Intelligence Advantage. By quite a bit might I add.
  • Regeneration, though limited by blood consumption, is a lot faster
  • Minor range advantage, though I'm not sure Denji would make full use of
  • Surprisingly more versatile move pool
  • Good stamina advantage
Honestly thinking it could go either way in most of their fights, with Akira being hard carried by that slight ap/dura advantage. But I'd honestly go with Denji 6 times out of 10.

Intelligence Advantage. By quite a bit might I add.
General intelligence, yeah, Akira didn't really demonstrate anything, and Ryo points out that he's a fool at school.

Combat intelligence, I would say they are around or even give the point to Akira, since he has defeated demons that were born fit for combat/survival and that have lived for millions of years.
He's not actually listed as 'Gifted' in combat like Denji since we don't do that anymore due to standards, they should update that in the profile.

Fair enough, I'd still give Denji a bit of an advantage since a lot of Devil man's demons are more like brutes in their fights than some of the cunning we would see in CSM, age be kinda damned in this case

I'll give it to Devilman due to his AP, Durability, and Lifting advantages. Would also probably give him the edge in experience given the fact he's faced demons with millions of years of fighting expertise.

I feel like the 2x physical gap (excluding chainsaws) and 4x LS adv could possibly lead to Akira incapacitating Denji

Is Akira known for going for grapples? I'm not super familiar with the series

Well, experience is always good, even better if it takes a long time, but I get your point

In this matchup, Akira would be really messing up Denji's regeneration... However, one thing is Akira's temperature manipulation: he was able to evaporate an entire water demon (which was able to fill a car completely) in a couple of seconds. It's really only listed as "at least 100°C" since I don't know how this could be calculated, but I could surely do the same with blood, whose boiling point is like 2-4 °C degrees higher.

OG Devilman is known as be one of the fathers of the legendary Platinum Tear technique in manga...

And ofc, this version too; in fact is one of his most used moves.

I could see Akira winning by tearing Denji to pieces then (I believe it was elaborated that if you have AP and LS adv you can LS tear the opponent in that one LS Q&A thread)

Honestly might give it to Akira here. Denji doesnt really have too much in terms of attacks outside of simple slashes from arms or legs or chains for some range stuff but

1) the chains would use LS which given the 4x disadvantage, could be resisted pretty easily and go against him if Akira uses the chains against him
2) The heat manip might overwhelm Denji if Akira uses it in tandem w LS and AP (I know Denji resists fire n stuff due to lighting himself in gasoline and burning while unfazed but idk Akiras heat manip might be better than that
3) the massive LS gap isnt helping him much since Akira seems to go for it

Might vote for Akira

What's stopping Denji from doing him like Sirene did?
******* him?

Sirene only could by attacking him from a hidden angle and catching him off guard. Considering SBA, I don't think this is the case since unless he lose sight of him

Denii's heat resistance is higher than Akira's heat manipulation
Gasoline fires burn up to 1,026 °C
Denji, yeah, but does his blood scale to the same value?
Furthermore, it's not the standard temperature either; it's the maximum temperature that gasoline can reach after being burned.

Just the cutting part. What happens when Denji lands a hit and cuts off his arms or slices his stomach open.

Btw, should I count this as a vote?
Hmm well with some of these comments now I'm not as sure.

Platinum tearing Denji would definitely be a hard counter here, who couldn't really do anything to stop it

Yes cause that's how heat resistance works.
Yeah, for DENJI himself, but after the blood leaves his body does not necessarily follow the same resistance as shown in the scene linked in the profile for the gasoline.

At the beginning was covered on blood, and then neither his shirt or chainsaw has a single trace of blood.
I want to clarify that this refers solely to the blood that comes out of his body or from Akira himself; ofc the blood he has in reserve will probably not be affected by this.

You increased the value in the second answer although I'm sure it was a typo.

It's not like Akira would just throw his flesh out to be sliced immediately. On the other hand, he could block it with his blade, which is still scaling above the chainsaw.

Counting votes and I'll go sleep if y'all still here.
