I don't get why people see him as a hero. He's damn near destroyed all of the Dragon Ball multiverse. For the sake of fun. FUN. He's incredibly selfish and is really a terrible father. So why do you guys like him?

I don't think people likes him, now less than always thanks to DBS flanderization, guy do not really transfer a good message young ones, isn't funny and is a complete ignorant. Is mostly cuz peoplw let themself guide by nostalgia.

He's funny, enjoyable, light-hearted, and badass. Does there really need to be more of a reason?
Saying he's a selfish or a terrible father aren't reasons to not like a character. People like The Joker despite him being an chaotic maniac, anything Goku has done is tame in-comparasion. People don't need their favorite characters to be sympathetic or morally relatable, to say otherwise is facetious.
And besides, I'd argue that saying Goku is impossibly selfish and a terrible father are over-exaggerations and simplifications of Goku's character born from bad TFS memes.

Y'know funny thing is Toriyama flat out said that he found it weird how people saw Goku as a Hero-Type character when he was never intended to be. Sure he's naive and as such he does heroic acts sometimes, but he's more written as a character that has good intents most of the time but above all else he's a person.
Also you're completely ignoring the fact that Zeno would've destroyed most of the universes anyways if it werent for Goku suggesting to him that a tournament be held; saving one more from destruction and giving EVERYONE a chance to survive via the Super Dragon Balls.

I mean Infinite Zamasu was going to destroy the multiverse too and he got where he was through Goku fighting him, so maybe that?

Welp, it wasn't erased in Trunk's timeline, so he could have been partially responsable of the erase of the universe.
Goku cold have his possitive attributes (although I don't see anything honestly), but at the very least there're far better characters within the serie.

Goku obviously loves fighting, but he genuinely cares about Gohan and Goten, he was going Berserk when Zamasu mentioned he killed Chi-Chi and Goten and he actively encouraged Gohan through DBZ and in Super saying he was the smartest person etc.

However, that was outside of Goku's control. He couldn't really expect Zamasu to go crazy over losing. He's not responsible for what Zamasu did. For Goku and everyone else, it was a simple sparring session. For Zamasu, it was something more. Can't put that blame on Goku.
