Why people think Sonic is above 5-B

So Sonic has had many feats that are above 5-B and so on, like the FEB, or that black hole from Sonic colors and that other black hole from Sonic colors, or him just beating a dude which just had a magical gem which can rival other magical gems which are 2-C (I swear this series has a knack for magical gems and black holes) I'm not asking for an upgrade I'm just explaining the many feats Base sonic and Supersonic have that are above Tier 5 or Tier 3.
