Yeah, he should get one. He forced Goku to use Ssjb and fought evenly with it whilst both were holding back.

Yeah I think he should be upgraded, Goku may have said he was holding back but so was 17. Many would say its BS but unlike Krillin's confidence boost or Trunks's plot induced Rage transformation 17 has been training possibly ever sense the Cell Games ended though he only really said he hasn't just been relaxing this hole time but its likely that he's been training since that moment as it would at least make this somewhat believable unlike the others.
I guess Super 17's fusion really was legitimate and not bs if normal 17 can become this strong.

While I haven't caught myself up with Super (Stopped watching after the Zamasu arc/Future Trunks arc), if 17 matching against SSGSS Goku is consistent, I agree with the upgrade

17 matched Goku in his SSJ form and even when Goku turned SSB he still perfectly matched him, both where even stated to be holding back in the end.

It makes perfect sense. Remember frieza? The dude trained for FOUR months and became stronger than ssb goku and vegeta. If android 17 was training since cell sage, that would be YEARS. So it makes sense

Yeah all they said about frieza was he was a prodigy with some latent potential. Now 17 may not have been stated to be a prodigy but he had years and with limitless stamina he wouldn't get tired and just keep going. Though thanks to lazy writing we didn't get an in depth look at his training but hey, it's not the worst out of the blue power up we have seen better then some out of the blue rage transformation.

I don't see why not. He might not be as strong as SSB Goku but even SSG Goku is universal, and full power current SSB >>>> SSG
Also he trained for 10 years, that's far more believable reason than Frieza's 4 months or Trunk's rage power up. 17 is the most legitimate upgrade so far in DBS

As much as i think this is dumb writing the facts can't be denied, 17 has been training for years now, so the upgrade is justified, although i think it's stupid that he can match ssb goku, my personal feelings don't matter.

@Darkinx please stop saying Frieza being an alien means he has more potential that means nothing, a writer can give a human more potential then an alien and the "humans" in this world can blow up planets and have defeated aliens.
Also post Black Arc Goku didn't use SSBKK in his fight with Hit, This Goku may have been holding back but you seem to forget so was 17 meaning we don't even know his full power

A writer can do whatever he wants, but if we have been shown for YEARS that there is a massive differentce between humans and aliens because of their potential, preventing them from being useful from frieza saga onwards (did you remember crillin and tien in the cell games?), there is no way that a human like 17 can be on that level.LordGriffin1000 said:

17 being a human means nothing, he actually pushed Goku to SSB and admitted he that he was holding back and so was 17. Docter Gero gave them more then just infinite energy as they can beat SSJ Trunks and SSJ Vegeta and they never trained so its obvious that Gero gave them upgrades cause they damn sure where not above frieza before they became androids.

Android 17 was maybe equal to super sayian Goku during cell arc so him being able to fight SSB all of a sudden is BS since even Vegeta surpassed him by a lot in his super sayian ultra or whatever form.
Frieza is a diffrent case since he evolved into a diffrent form and was always designed to be equal or superior to Goku while someone random person who got surpassed by Vegeta without even going ss2 is BS

You guys need to just stop 17 clearly has gotten stronger because he traind. We have seen humans gain unfathomable power in a short time, just because someone isn't relevant at times or gets overshadowed by someone else doesn't mean anything. The Androids where built more powerful then Frieza someone who trained for 4 months and became stronger then SSG Goku and that's not even counting his Evolution, even if 17 wasn't a prodigy like Frieza or had any latent potential like him he had way more time then Frieza plus can constantly train without getting tired and considering how humans gain unfathomable power in a short time just think of how powerful 17 can become.

What you wrote equals to that and honestly I don't care that much about DBZ so it doesn't matter,but I simply gave my opinion on Android 17 being able to match ssb Goku when during the same arc we first saw him he was utterly outclassed by ss2 Goku and probably even ss Goku is really funny...Matthew Schroeder said:
