DaReaperMan Kazanshin DaReaperMan wrote on Kazanshin's profile.
Taking this to walls in order to not derail the Settra vs Angron thread.
Basically, the simple first step is to copy/paste an already made profile into what's known as a Sandbox. Here's one of my sandboxes, just replace "DaReaperMan" with your username on the wiki, and replace "Rexxar" with whatever you damn well please, and you have your own sandbox. You can make as many as you want and leave them sitting for as long as you want. This one has been sitting around since 2022, for reference.
From there you need to know how to code properly. First thing to do is to get into Source Editor, which is here, on the right:
If you click that on PC, you should see something like this:
Now this next part is the long one, because I now need to go over all basic coding.

Bolding is done with 3 single quotations on either side of what you want bolded. This is very finnicky with Italics and vice versa, alternatively, you can select the thing you want bolded and click the big B in the top bar. Bolding should be used in the following cases:
Quotes are the first finnicky thing. The coding for it goes like this: {{Quote|Insert quote here|Character name}}
Be sure to only use either a Scan or a Reference if you're putting one into a quote, because I've discovered it loves to be finnicky with both. Now how do you do references, well...
References are how 40K pages aren't impossible to rescan, because a good reference can point you in the direction of where you need to look for the scan. For instance, references on 40K pages that have them are generally good, you can find things easily there. References on a profile like Doomguy suck hot ass because pointing at a huge ass thing and saying "GOOD LUCK ********" helps literally nobody. Oh, and References are mandatory for new profiles, so get used to using them if you're making files lol
Reference coding goes like this: <ref name="Warhammer 40,000: The End and the Death Part I">Warhammer 40,000: The End and the Death Part I</ref>
Obviously, replace Warhammer 40,000: The End and the Death Part I with basically anything. That should be your go-to reference starter, because <ref>Warhammer 40,000: The End and the Death Part I</ref> can get screwed up if you find something that also has that as a reference.
To code references after you used your first one in a sequence is like this: <ref name="Warhammer 40,000: The End and the Death Part I"/>
You'll notice I ctrl+C ctrl+V'd that first part. That's because it's just easier. Happy referencing. You can see like, any profile that uses them for where to place them(after punctuation/at the end of where you want it to reference)
Links to files in our wiki are done like this: [[Fire Manipulation]]
It's also super easy to just type in the first 4 letters of an ability and let the wiki do it for you, or just type in the full name. Espeically if the character has a file on this wiki. For actual things like Blogs or Calculations however it goes like this: [[User blog:Naito-desu/Warhammer Fantasy: Warp Grinders Make Rat Ogre-Sized Tunnels|262 Tons of TNT]]
I just copied that from Settra's profile. Basically, when you click on a calculation copy/paste the not-website stuff. So instead of copy/pasting this: https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/U...sy:_Warp_Grinders_Make_Rat_Ogre-Sized_Tunnels ...You copy/paste this: User_blog:Naito-desu/Warhammer_Fantasy:_Warp_Grinders_Make_Rat_Ogre-Sized_Tunnels
Links to files outside of are wiki go like this: [https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/1b509222a9fc.png]
This is very finnicky, because Fandom hates you linking to outside sources, for instance it straight up denies any links to Wiki.gg without special links... So just leave out the h when you're copying it and add it when you're pasting. This goes to YouTube sources too. Just remember that coding actually linking a timestamp in YouTube goes: Video link: h ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiKhjnRmayU&t=1h1m1s
h is for hours, m is for minutes, s is for seconds. And don't include the space between the H and the T at the beginning.
The last thing I'll talk about is Tabbers.
They're finnicky as all hell, just copy/paste from a profile like Settra's. If Sigmar Forbid you want to type them from scratch though, it goes link this:
<tabber>
|-|Whatver you want=
This goes on until you put in another...
|-|Greetings=
And it ends the tabber when you put in
</tabber>
...Oh and I lied, bullet points are easier than hell. Just do this: *
I'm serious. Just do that. Look at any profile I've made in the past like 3 years such as Arkhan the Black lol
- First mention of the Character's name in a summary
- Usage of Keys, which you can see on Nathanos' file up there, or in either Settra or Angron's files.
- Powers and Abilities to help separate the power link from the scans/references.
- Bolding of things dictating levels, so for instance genius intelligence in an Intelligence section will have Genius bolded. You can also see what to bold in main stats.
