BAN-KAI! Bleach General Discussion

After watching the episode again I notice something very important for the scaling of Renji and Uryu in their fight.

If you watch closely, Renji (Bankai) got hits on Base Uryu but didn’t do any damage to Uryu at all. No bruises. No cuts. Only his clothes got dirty. On the other hand a single arrow of Uryu cut Renji’s face at the start of the fight.

Uryu was holding back a lot against Renji, even if Renji was holding back as well. Renji shouldn’t scale to Uryu at all. Is more of Uryu trying to stop Renji and had no choice but to shoot an arrow through him.

1. Renji will later lose to a causal attack of 1st giant form Gerard, Gerard will also call their Reiastu “small” for him, and this Gerard isn’t really that strong.

2. Renji performs worse than byakuya against base gerard given Renji is losing blood.

3. Base zaraki with even the eyepatch on, so way weaker than gremmy and Yama casually slice the same Gerard which Renji lost miserably. Not base, not shikai, not bankai, but base with eyepatch zaraki is stronger than Renji.

Go on and scale Renji to 2C? as half of the verse of course. not much sense behind it.

Instead let’s focus to the fact that Uryu needed hax to overpower Senjumaru, and needed vollstading to damage her.(vollstading Uryu scale to senju but not base) However Renji never really left an injury on base Uryu at all.

I’m not even a Yama fan but I think people need to hold on their horses with the scaling, Yama is likely to still be superior.

It's crazy how all that can change. Renji might not even fight Gerard, which means there wouldn't be any inconsistency. For all we know, he could be dead right now.

Both were holding back.

The difference is Uryu Vollständig after sklaverei is same as the one he used against Ichigo.

Renji would definitely scale one way or the other

I think you're forgetting that there's a very large chance that a lot that fight will be changed.
 
Gerard one shotting Renji with a breath, even if it happened, it will mean nothing.
Renji is injured and his reiatsu was absorbed, so he’s massively nerfed now.
 
Everyone keeps saying “oh but this could happen down the road” like it WILL happen. Which is what I mean by stop preemptively coping. If base Byakuya outscales Bankai Yamamoto with the new anime changes, then that contradictory statement in CFYOW has just been retconned. Tough shit. Like Renji is just dead rn, he probably ain’t even pulling up on Gerard. So stop the cope of like “oh no what will we do”, we’re in the territory now of the uncharted, wait and see what happens, what gets explains, etc before being a piss baby

I was originally an anime-only bleach watcher

Until the frequent filler made me read it

Easily became my second favorite manga number 1 is tied between Pkmn and DB

Same here, watched the anime first before reading the manga.

Mostly just due to the manga having extra content, since TYBW was still going on back then

I don't read manga a lot so if I had to say it, my favorites art pieces are Bleach and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, but I like Bleach a little more(0,00001% maybe)

When Uryu's grandfather was killed, do you think Renji might've been sent to help him? It's been a while since I read early Bleach, but I know that SS sent some people to help them, but were too late.
