Moria and Perona were quite literally was not trying to kill Luffy in that moment and in that page it literally shows Moria grabbing his shadow to remove it. Perona will try to finish the job. It's not grasping straws when Perona's default mindset to combat has always been Negative Hollows. If Mob had something more to him then maybe but there isn't anything going for that outside of the idea that Perona would randomly put in more effort to kill a random high schooler than literally anyone else in the series other than people who are immune to her tricks.

Yeah I'm aware that losing control is in reference to his emotions. Mob's emotions are not losing control, that's the point being made. Mob losing his will to fight or do anything doesn't mean that ??? comes out dawg I'm so confused on how you're drawing these correlations.

I'm drawing these conclusions because literally every time ??? comes out is when Mob loses his will. Whenever Mob is put into a state where he mentally can't hold back it anymore it pops out independent of Mob's actions. This is usually only when Mob gets knocked out since that's the only time he loses the will to restrain it but if Perona removes it then it would come out.

Her hollows don't just remove the will to fight, it creates a severe depression which makes the victim want to die and be alone. That type of mental isolation + the inability to hold ??? back + your own self admission that it wouldn't give Mob any emotions result in a complete burst of power from an entity that Mob holds no desire to stop anymore.

I'm not denying that she uses her Negative Hollows. You're trying to use an arc where she was explicitly ordered to capture not kill on order for Moria to gather shadows to say she'd try to capture Mob after hitting him with a Negative Hollow instead of using attacks that actually deal damage so that she can win the fight. It's ridiculous. Perona's a pirate so Mob's age is irrelevant.
