Guess I’ll vote Ruby then. Maki has many tools to not die and instantly win in melee range. But if she gets shot in the head once she instantly dies from ap + gravity rounds dealing way more damage + piercing, and Ruby’s semblance at the very least lets her create eternal free distance between maki and her, along with making her intangible so Maki can’t hit her so anytime she gets in range Ruby just restarts the fight.
So I think Maki eventually makes a single mistake and gets shot, but I can very easily see the arguments for Maki since she is very hard to actually put down here.

Like I said earlier, this fighting is basically:
Without prior knowledge - Ruby goes for CQC and gets cut in half the first time she tries to block a sword swing
With prior knowledge- Ruby plays keepaway the entire fight and spams her semblance to stay at range and dust bullets until one connects, she shoots close enough for the gravity dust to take a chunk out of her, or maki gets close enough to a wall for her to get hit by the elemental aoe
Like I said earlier, this fighting is basically:

Maki FRA, even IF Ruby has proper knowledge Ruby rarely, if ever stays only at long ranges in order to sniper opponents. Proper knowledge does not change a characters nature, and Ruby is someone who fights up close with her scythe against human opponents, rarely ever delegating herself to being a dedicated sniper, ESPECIALLy in 1v1s.

It's not suicidal, is the thing. Yes Ruby is a wary person, even with foreknowledge, but this doesn't change the fact that she is still at heart a close combat fighter who very rarely will just be a dedicated sniper against her opponents. It is just in her nature.
Most of her effective abilities and capabilities are close-range and Maki's numerous Enhanced Senses including Analytical Prediction will make sniping not an optimal strategy given she will likely dodge them with a bit more ease, she would be forced to approach, or Maki would just approach her.

Against a golem, not a human opponent, she very clearly employs different tactics on humans.

It would in fact be suicidal for a person who has a fighting style that is 50% sniper to willingly go into CQC against an opponent who she knows for a fact can bypass her aura, her physical durability, and her weapon with their sword.
As ive stated multiple times, it doesnt matter if she dodges them, they can still affect her even if she does

Maki has absolutely nothing in her kit that can deal with somebody with hundreds of meters of range, flight, speed amps, and prior knowledge to avoid her at all costs.

I do despise one-sided prior knowledge matches but the range advantage won't help Ruby and neither will flight.

It most certainly would as she can consistently stay far away from Maki's sword and consistently take shots at her until one connects

I mean if the enemy is just going to take potshots at Maki and not make any attempt to advance on her, wouldn't Maki just use her stealth mastery to hide? Then when Ruby least expects it, she can jump in and decapitate her in one fell swoop.

Aura allows the user to sense opponents even when they cant see them. Also Ruby has instinctive reactions with regard to activating her semblance.

Sense them how? Through an aura? If so, Maki completely lacks that. And scales to Toji who can sneak up on people with cracked Enhanced senses and ESP.

No, they use this mostly to detect Grimm which don't have aura or even souls so its more of a general danger sense though less of a direct one than something like Deku's or Spidey's.

In general. Its not through Aura no, Grimm lack souls entirely and Aura users can still sense them. Mid and high-tier characters can even fight while completely blind using nothing but their Aura

Its quie literally just 'sensing' unless its a more skilled Aura user in which case they can just outright see for hundreds of meters through their Aura

Alright, well Toji (Who Maki is scaling off of IIRC) could sneak up on like two dudes with "sensing". One of them possessing super-cracked sensing to where he can pin-point someone's exact location 300+ Kilometers away instantly and sense and locate people stalking him from a building several blocks away on top of other stuff his "super-vision" provides. So I imagine getting past vague "sensing" should be feasible.

It's not getting tricked. It's Maki sneaking up and assassinating her. I didn't say Ruby walks up to where Maki was and she stabs her in the eye or smth. I said Maki sneaks off, Ruby doesn't know where she went, and then she decapitates her from behind.

The fight takes place in a building, and I doubt the building is suspended in a void. She can use the building, and any buildings or surroundings to hide.

And as I and several others have brought up, there is not a single thing stopping Ruby from just flying out a window of even just flying through a wall and baiting Maki into chasing her like she did to Harriet.

Did you ignore my original comment? Her sneaking up on Ruby is in RESPONSE to her doing exactly that. Ruby flies out a window and tries to bait Maki into chasing her to no avail? Maki decides to just stop chasing her pointlessly and choose to use stealth to assassinate her.

By popping out behind her and decapitating her the same way Toji jumped from out of nowhere and stabbed Gojo in the heart.

From behind...in the air? She wouldnt be behind, she would be below.
She would have to travel dozen to well over 100 meters from below without Ruby noticing her, while Ruby would be doing nothing but scanning the ground below her as thats the only direction Maki could come from
