Validity of restricting timeline control

Character Kris Dreemurr has immortality type 8 through time manipulation powers of Player. It turns most matchups with them to onesided stomps. But many matches were done with them as fighter, where this ability was implicitly or explicitly restricted (and results of such matches were added to profiles, aka considered valid), such as:
Vs Sans
Vs Undyne

But some people here complained that restricting control of timeline makes such matchups invalid. I asked staff clarification, but they were unsure about it. So does restricting timeline control turns matchup into invalid or not?

In case it does, there is alternative. This matchup is done in specific location that negates immortality of one of the fighters, this stopping matchup from being stomp. Can be something similar done here, and would such matches be considered valid?

And obvious thing to say, I am interested in opinion of staff members foremost.

Not staff but tbh moving the location to a place where something would be negated/nerfed and not arbitrarily just saying "Nah can't use this" seems fair and in the same vein of making more interesting math ups just like with speed equal. It's a gazillion times more fair than speed equal and in the same spirit.

In general you're not allowed to just selectively restrict certain powers and abilities and have the match be valid.

IIRC, it's fine to restrict them if they have different tier. Could this reasoning apply for our case, since Player(one who gives immortality) have totally different tier(2-B Vs 7-B)?
And what about:
In case it does, there is alternative
