A Hat in Time: Potential Removal of Vanessa's Curse

Introduction

Howdy! 😄👋 I'm quite the Vanessa's Curse player myself, having gotten 1,000 Crowns and 287 Souls... Jumpless! However I feel as though this Creator DLC (CDLC for short) was not indexed in the most clear/transparent manner.

What is CDLC?

Creator DLCs are not developed by Gears for Breakfast, but are DLC made by ambitious modders with support from GfB. This is why Snatcher and Vanessa have new VAs in Vanessa's Curse. However, despite how CDLC is created it is still seemingly canon for a number of reasons...
  1. Vanessa's Curse is listed internally as Chapter 8
  2. When checking the "Disable Mods" option, Vanessa's Curse still remains playable. This means it is considered part of the "pure, original experience"
  3. All Creator DLC is expected to fit in with A Hat in TIme's canon (Do note that the QnA where this statement comes from is lost to time, so it's not exactly clear whether or not it's stated to be 100% canon or if it needs to merley vaugely comply with canon)
However, the problem is not canonicity but rather that Creator DLCs are accessed via an in-universe video game console.

Arguments for It Being Applicable for Scaling

Even despite this, it may not be reasonable to throw out feats from Creator DLC, as there is sufficient evidence of the video games being accurate depictions of reality
  1. In dialogue, The Golden Minion mentions obscure basgame tech such as SDJs and DSJs, meaning that the abilities shown in Vanessa's Curse are canonically accurate to very minute quirks
  2. All Souls and Crowns you earn from Vanessa's Curse stay in your global inventory and can be accessed outside of the gamemode, even though there exists another for level-unique items
    1. The same goes for any Remixes you bring into Vanessa's Curse, as with the cosmetics
  3. The way you find opponents in Vanessa's Curse is by using the Online Party Machine, a machine which can be accessed in the Curse lobby and not only canonically works via collapsing dimensions together, but also syncs up with the Online Party Machine in her Spaceship
  4. The way Creator DLC is accessed could be a non-diegetic stylistic choice to avoid having to add more interactable elements to the spaceship, saving development time

My Solution

At the moment I don't think the Creator DLC feats should get straight up removed. I however, cannot in good faith let these feats be indexed without at least a Note on the page clarifying the circumstance or at least the P&A showcased in creator DLC getting slapped with a Likely rating. I'm personally in support of the separate tabber for Creator DLC abilities to keep things organized and prevent having to spam "likely".

Any alternatives should be discussed, and I'm open to the idea of nuking Creator DLC from the site entirely.

Misc. Changes

Several P&A indexed due to Vanessa's Curse have major misinterpretations of how they work

Hat Kid/Bow Kid - Invisibility is not an innate ability she can activate at will, it's one of effects caused by Snatcher using the roulette assist his losing team, needs moved to Snatcher's page.
Queen Vanessa - Her use of her powers does not create new crowns, but rather crowns from her unfathomably large (finite) collection are Teleported onto the playing field.

There are more abilities that need to be indexed, but due to Vanessa's Curse having a really small player count and thus not many videos, it's going to take a little bit to find scans for every ability, but this should fix the misinterpretations currently on the pages. If Creator DLC remains on the wiki, I will go through the effort of finding or manually recording anything that needs added for both Vanessa's Curse and any future Creator DLC projects that have yet to exist.

Note

The example of Hat Kid having Invisibility listed on her profile is especially egregious as backing up the timestamp used on the profile by just a few seconds showcases this missing context. I'm not trying to come across as rude because I make these kinds of mistakes all the time too, but please try to avoid really bad mistakes like this in the future as media like Vanessa's Curse is really hard to index and verifying information as correct or incorrect can be very difficult. (y)

"Really hard to index" What? There's like a ton of videos of this.

And I added the abilities in 2022, a lot of time ago.

It's fairly tedious due to what ability from the Roulette wheel you get being random, and many games in Vanessa's Curse ending before the roulette can start due to the mode having poor balancing. Ty for the reply 🤗

Somehow I don't think Hat Kid has a television with "CREATOR DLC" and a random video game about Queen Vanessa. Along with all the other evidence of it not being just a video game, I think a note would be fine.

This is all fine, too.

Would it be better to put it on individual pages or the 'verse page?
