Not really? His meta gimmick doesn't quite work the same way as SBP's does. Like the whole "first appeared in comics" was more of an irl marketing thing, while in universe it's moreso just him erasing himself from everyone else's memory.

I kinda meant that Prime should casual wise stomp Sentry simply by punching him like Adam in casual sense is way stronger than Apocalypse, you need to argue Sentry/Apocalypse have close enough stats and hax that matters but I dont think thats as obvious to those 2 lol

It's really hard to argue that when the highest guy Sentry can arguably scale to is Galactus, who even being generous is definitely not anywhere on the level of the Darkest Knight who Laughs unless DB becomes really disingenous. Hell even Knull definitely doesn't scale to such level and he's easily stronger than the Void.

Idk man, I get hax being debatable to some extent, but you really have to kinda reach for Sentry's high ends, especially a lot of them having some weird added context to them, while SBP's high ends are very straightforward.

I'm also in the camp that the Void could totally screw with Prime's mind enough to give Sentry and opening, not even counting the soul damage stuff that (I don't think) he's shown any resistance to.

It's kind of wild that we have a Superman-level fight here that's actually debatable,

The general vibes I also got, but personally I never saw him around the talks of being the 'strongest' of Supes' versions. Mostly because he's a different character and all, but the only real 'this guy too OP' talks I ever saw him in were about the 'retcon punch' which shouldn't probably be a factor here.

Yeah, I feel SBP has more consistent showings of scaling to higher level cosmic beings in his verse compared to Sentry.

Sentry was killed off by Knull when he shouldn't have been in the first place, not because he was weaker, but because he wasn't even on Earth the last time we saw him and he already merged with the Void and got a whole new look, yet suddenly he ended up back on Earth with his old look just to be merc'd by Knull.

And since dying to Knull, Bob just hasn't gotten the crazy BS that dudes like Thor and Hulk got over the years. Sure, he scales to them, but only back when those two were significantly weaker. I mean the older versions of Thor and Hulk he scales to are still pretty damn powerful, just not to the level where he can physically contend with Prime imo.

It's really weird considering you can do a lot of esoteric stuff with Sentry and explore more of his background in the grand cosmic scale, but they really never did.

I genuinely think Gwenpool would have been a better option, not only because she and Prime have even more connections to each other than Sentry and Prime do, but she has actual meta feats that can compete with Prime's.

Prime vs Sentry feels like Black Adam vs Apocalypse. In theory, Adam is in another physical league, with his fights with the Justice League and contending with Superman and Shazam, while Apocalypse despite his impressiveness, does not consistently physically match Marvel's equivalent heavy hitters. But on paper, Apocalypse HAS matched them, so he gets to scale that high, and he has a plethora of bullshit powers that render him unkillable.

Same here. In a one-to-one sense, I don't see how Superboy Prime, the brickest shittest house DC ever built, doesn't turn Sentry into nonexistent mush more often than not. But Sentry has a plethora of bullshit, and occasionally accomplishes cool stuff, so he gets to vaguely scale to those same highs.

Feel free to dunk on my lack of actual knowledge on these two @Peter_"Quicksilver"_Maximoff, this is just how I'm thinking it'll go.

Spoiler: Prime vs Sentry

Yeah, I get the comparison honestly. Prime definitely has the cleaner raw physical scaling. Dude is basically the most “DC brick” character imaginable

But I think people undersell how annoying Sentry is to actually put down. He’s not just a flying punch guy. The Void, molecular manipulation, regen, resurrection nonsense, energy manipulation, mental resistance, etc. make him way harder to deal with than someone who’s just physically strong.

And unlike Apocalypse, Sentry’s highs aren’t completely disconnected from his scaling either. He’s fought Thor-tier characters, matched WWH, tanked cosmic-level attacks, regenerated from being basically destroyed, resisted reality/mind weirdness, and kept functioning through stuff that would kill most heralds instantly.

Plus his higher-end stuff gets kinda crazy too. This is the same guy who resisted the Collective, interacted with Cosmic Cube-level forces, affected reality on a massive scale with the Void, and has statements/comparisons tying his power to universal or beyond-tier energies depending on the run. Even when Marvel writes him inconsistently, they clearly treat him as way more than just “strong superhero #47.”

So yeah, Prime probably hits harder overall. I don’t think that’s really debatable.

But Sentry’s whole thing is surviving stuff he absolutely shouldn’t survive and turning a straight fist fight into some insane Void/reality-warping mess. That’s why the matchup is actually interesting instead of just “Prime one-shots.”

Also the black hole thing is irrelevant even at face value, DJ didnt bring the current big stuff, like characters including Heihachi having domain expansion dimensions with a solar eclipse inside or Jun powers making a constellation, which Devil Jin overpowers

Totally, moreso than the current episode actually.

Never knew much about Sentry growing up until he showed up in Civil War and then Marvel Zombies, but his appearance in Thunderbolts* really brought me over.(And yes I know movie Sentry is not like mainline Sentry)

I only knew Prime through Linkara's "I AM A MAN" meme years back and the cultural osmosis of the Retcon Punch, but his origin is actually pretty interesting since he's just not "Slightly Different Clark #5"

Also while Yujiro has crazy skill feats and such, DJ didnt do a good job on that to show Heihachi isnt uber stomped in that department as it was made out

For starters, Jack robots are stated and shown in bios, character narrative or cutscenes to learn, adapt and even copy moves from fighters and Heihachi still beats them up or even those a level below

Feng literally beats up masters of martial arts and a younger Heihachi can keep up with him, whom is weaker then his old self

Tekken own Ogre literally has in his bio stated this, which is relatively lose to Yujiro stuff, Paul beats up Ogre, Heihachi clearly can too

The man himself meanwhile is knowledgable in various styles of combat and Mishima style itself has history since samurai era

So besides the stats being obvious who is above who, he has skill and experience to boot as well on him
