Deltarune: Chapter 5 (SPOILER!!) Discussion Thread

Another thing: FRIEND appears in Chapter 5 and Chapter 3. In both Chapters it can damage you. Does this mean that Ch3 scales to Ch5?

Nah.
In both cases attacks are duraneg. And on case of fight in chapter 3 goal of ERAM (Shadow Mantle holder) and FRIENDSs is for Kris to win.

I have an idea that could be either a great idea or a terrible idea/theory, and shouldn't exist

Here.

I think the flowers/plants (planters?) should have both physiologies.

Although Flowery mentions that plants are neither Lightners nor Darkners, I feel that this refers to plants being an intermediate form that has characteristics of both.

Living things that enter a dark world are called Lightners; they can use things like inventories, check, and ACTuar; they can cast spells and TP; and, furthermore, in a dark world, they transform into their ideal version—the one they desire.

Inanimate objects in a dark world transform into Darkners, who can use magic ≥ that of Lightners; Darkners are distorted to take on a form similar to their Light World counterparts; they cannot travel to other worlds, they can manipulate bullet worlds, immovable types, etc...

And what about plants/flowers? They are living, sentient beings, but physically (structurally?) they are immobile. Their form in the Dark World is whatever they want it to be (similar to Lightners, except Orange). They can use magic at a level ≥ that of Lightners (like Darkners), and they can use Check (Lightners). If they go to the Light World, they return to their real form (Darkners). the Dark World is a distortion of reality, so they can’t obtain nutrients (Lightners don’t get calories). And possibly more, but I can’t think of any right now.

What do you all think?

I know this might not make sense (or it might do), but I saw this somewhere else and I feel like it should be discussed because it affects the flowers in some degree.
 
I don't really understand the logic behind this Flowery speed calc, why is superhuman/speed of sound used when The Knight isn't even really moving at those speeds since it's on its knees, wouldn't it make more sense to use the Knight's afterimages (like the calc originally did) since Flowery actually did blitz those while they were actually moving?

Calc got rejected, i'm gonna recalc it later
 
Another 9-A+ support calc for Deltarune, Mach 15 calc, and i started the recalc of Flowery feat. Should i count the afterimages Flowery made while hitting the Knight? Since the Knight couldn't react i think it would upgrade the value, but i'm not sure.

I'm gonna sleep rn, so i will correct thing later.
I meant measure the speed of The Knight's afterimages and assume they're slowed down to snail speed when they freeze but it seems that the slow motion calc method isn't accepted for Flowery anyways.

Slow mo was rejected but you still can use the 1px method, if the knight afterimages had a speed of 50 m/s, and the knight is like 2.5m tall by being 250px tall, then 1px is 1cm, thats how much the afterimages could move while Flowery was blitzing them, moving 1cm at 50 m/s is a timeframe of 0.0002 s

With that timeframe measure flowery moving his shoulders, if he move 40cm then he has a speed of 2000 m/s

(Also the flowery lifting asgore would be Class 10 as its in the middle of 5-10 Metric Tons, for the Mach 15 Feat you could measure the weight of a bullet and apply the speed, should be High 8-C)

Wouldn't it be better to use 1 in-game pixel, so the results don't get inflated by a video with high screen resolution?

Kris is 36 pixels tall and their sprite is upscaled by 2 in-game so that's 72 pixels tall.

1.6795/72 = 0.02332638888 m
 
After rematching Pink on an aborted Weird Route file (which means no Dealmaker or True Tie to resist Puppet/Cat damage, or Monarch Ribbon for better healing), I can confidently say that her fight is way too easy outside of those unfair bombs. I beat her first try in my rematch without using items (I beat her first try on my first playthrough as well, but that was with me using healing items while my skill was nerfed by IRL weather).

The official Twitter account said a few days ago that they’re planning on nerfing the bombs soon, which while a good thing will mean that her fight will possibly end up the easiest of the Shadow bosses.

I think the high end is kind of bogus because those aren't afterimages caused by speed, the Knight just constantly emanates them even while standing still, same for Flowery.
Didn't GodlyCharmander measure the speed of the afterimages a few pages ago, why couldn't that have been used?

Also, I'm pretty sure the afterimages only freeze after Flowery turns so that movement probably isn't valid. Maybe that Subsonic one was the safest option?
