Question iroh deflected actual lightning isn't that a outliner and if not shouldn't he be as fast for reactions? Toph lifted a huge mine why isn't that in her profile?

It's not an outlier but since it was from a distance it isn't as impressive as someone would have though.

As it was pointed out many times, the distance the lightning traveled calced it in at sonic speed, despite the other evidence that this feat was hugely casual.

Zuko took lightning from a much smaller scale, Zuko was hugely confident that he could redirect real lightning, Azula was able to catch - however not redirect, real lightning, etc.

Speed = Distance/Time => Time = Distance/Speed

So even if the speed of lightning is MHS+ the distance is around 2 km so the time required for it to reach Iroh and him react to it (and move his hand) isn't that small so his speed and reactions aren't as high.

I think it will be hard to imagine without numbers. Here some number for OP to calculate.

"Slow lightning" (those are common to strike surface) speed is 200 000 m/s. Reaction time for 2000 meters is 0,01 s.

'Average lightning" (rare for "normal types" but sometimes happen) speed is 40 000 000 m/s. Reaction time for 2000 meters is 5e-5 s.

"Fast lightning" (that kind of lightning are high atmo event) speed is 140 000 000 m/s. Reaction time for 2000 meters is 1,4e-5 s.

P.S. The actual reaction time is faster since the speed of light is fixed at ~3e+8 m/s. And it need 6,7e-6 s to cross 2 km.

High atmo lightining are majority of lightnings and they are 40 000 000 m/s (but such speed possible for multi-strike lightning events). Those pesky lightnings that strike our surface are slowpokes.
