According to the page, we have the following.

Corrected planet diameter = sqrt(1-(tan(35)(planet diameter in pixels/panel height in pixels))^2/((tan(35)(planet diameter in pixels/panel height in pixels))^2+1))*planet diameter

If typing this formula into a calculator pay heed that the tangent is calculated in degrees, not radians.

For the values in our previous example that would be:

Corrected planet diameter = sqrt(1-(tan(35)(530/880))^2/((tan(35)(530/880))^2+1))*12742 = 11740.69 km


Let's say I cropped the sample image to the bottom half. The Panel height is now 440 px, but the planet's pixel diameter stays the same. The corrected curvature would become 9740.1 km.

We have the following images:

You should use the panel height that has the full circle, right?
 
No.

This formula assumes 70 degree FoV hence we there is tan(35) in it. When you're using a portion of the original image we know for a fact that your FoV is below 70 degrees and we can no longer use that assumption.
