he was the one who did the calculation of how much is needed to calculate the dimensionality,so all credits for him(i only do the post)
To be specific, dimension is a way of measuring something in a space 2 lines is a dimension, 4 lines is 2 dimensions, 8 lines is 3 dimensions, 16 lines is 4 dimensions, 32 lines is 5 dimensions, you can do this to literally infinity (keep doubling the lines until the numbers are so big,that you need to use other forms of counting)
and well, since we now know what that is like, we must know what is in a space. well, in space there are a lot of things, but the basics are:
1.atoms
2.protons
3.neutrons
4.electrons
5.quarks
in reality,that's all that there is in space,a combination of all those components.
but in string theory, the smallest that can be in space, are the strings (hence the name) since the strings are only 1D,and planck is the smallest thing possibly(something smaller is literraly not make sense in any logic)
