Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Discussion Thread

50px = 40 feet = 12.192 meters
Mound width 1610px : (12.192/50) * 1610 =392.5824m
Mound height 506px : (12.192/50) * 506
=123.38304m

Volume: π×(392.5824/2)^2×123.38304
= 14935060.9482 m^3
Density: Continental crust, rocks and soil: 2,700 kg/m^3
Mass: 14935060.9482×2,700
= 40,324,664,560.1 kg (Class G)
Time: 5 second
Speed: 123.38304/5 = 24.676608 m/s
Energy: (40324664560.1×24.676608^2)/2 = 1.2277549e+13 J
gonna be real with you mate...
400 may be a big overestimation considering this shot exists now

I'll try to calculate it based on the scan I did.
Scan 1
54 px = 1.71 m
212 px = 6.71333333333 m
Scan 2
50 px = 6.71333333333 m
1610 px = 216.169333333 m
506 px = 67.9389333333 m
Volume: π×(216.169333333/2)^2×67.9389333333 = 2493427.6536 m^3
Mass: 2493427.6536×2700 = 6732254664.72 Class M
Speed: 67.9389333333/5 = 13.5877866667 m/s
Energy: (6732254664.72×13.5877866667^2)/2 = 621,481,177,030 J or 148.54 Tons of TNT Multi-City Block level

I will try to calculate the lake freezing success through this scan.
146 px = 216.169333333 m
446 px = 660.352894976 m
4 inches of ice (10.16 cm = 0.1016 m) is enough for you to walk on.
Volume: π×(660.352894976/2)^2×0.1016 = 34796.5159321 m^3
Density of water: 997 kg/m^3
Mass: 34796.5159321×997 = 34692126.3843 kg
Q1 = (4186)×(34692126.3843)×(18.2 - 0)
Q1 = 2.6430266e+12 J
Q2 = (34692126.3843)×(334000)
Q2 = 1.158717e+13 J
Q_total = (2.6430266e+12)+(1.158717e+13) = 1.4230197e+13 J
Time: 9 second
Energy: (1.4230197e+13)/9 = 1.581133e+12 J (Multi-City Block level+)

In the Denken calculation section
Scan 1
367 px = 660.352894976 m
324 px = 582.981847336 m
85 px = 152.942768591 m
52 px = 93.564987844 m
Volume = (1/3)×π×depth×(r² + r × R + R²)
Volume = (1/3)×π×582.981847336×(152.942768591^2+152.942768591+93.564987844+93.564987844^2) = 19775471.4571 m^3
Density of air is 1.225 kg/m^3
Mass: 19775471.4571×1.225 = 24224952.5349 kg
Q = (1000.5)×(24224952.5349)×(1100-20)
Q = 2.617603e+13 J (Town level)

mmm I feel like at this point we might be relying on the anime a bit too much. I also feel sus towards calculating lake size from the mound and not the other way around since the shot of Lawine in the middle of the lake is far more accurate compared to the mound pixel scaling

Cause my main concern here is accuracy to the manga.
There were no good shots of the lake compared to anyone at any point during the manga and so I used the shot from the anime. The mound doesn't have that kind of shot in the anime or in the manga. Instead, the anime version is clearly inconsistent with its depiction in the manga (tree line is several times smaller) which isn't the case for the shot where it is next to the lake. So I have to disagree with using the mound as a point of scale where there's 3 stages of pixel scaling required to get the lake's size from it, while it only requires one solid stage of px scaling to get the size of the lake without the mound.

Hmm, I don't really think the anime looks better in any way. The calculation in the manga still gives us their Class M power level, which is good enough for me since we already have an accepted Class K calculation for low tiers.

Ultimately, it is up to the individual fan to decide which calculation they prefer. However, I believe that the manga's calculation is more accurate and consistent with the rest of the series.

If the anime is accepted as a secondary canon then it should be used to clarify parameters that the manga isn’t clear on.

So no this is not about picking and fans choosing which fan calc to use (we aren’t even allowed to do that). It’s about being precise and accurate and if the anime gives better shots to work with I say go ahead.

There is definatly something wrongwith these fire calcs. This fire tornado is nothing compared to 12 kT nuke that was droped on Hiroshima in terms of both size of the fire blast and its temperature.
it definitely reaches a kiloton. The energy required to heat up the air to that point in that volume is defnitely that great. 12 kilotons is wrong cause of the pixel scaling but otherwise just because you believe it's incomparable doesn't mean it isn't comparable.

Nah its fine mathematically and its moreso about the size since using the scans from anime he's using to get the size resulted in a taller than half a kilometer tall fire blast

But yeah regardless this is accurate to heating up that volume of air to the temple required to produce flames

How does Stark only have average human lifting strength? I definatly remember Eisen lifting a big boulder over his head. Like Class 100 big. Even if the doesn't somehow scale it should be at least athletic level.

Also why do mages have 10-B psysicaly tier? Is that even important?

Yeah the mages absolutely need their physical stats noted and it seems like people just overlooked stark and Eisen's LS feats they should be way higher

I haven’t even read the manga and I know Stark does not have average human lifting strength ☠️

as an anime only i d remember MULTIPLE shots of stark carrying and car sized boulders on him and doing push ups under them, thats WAAAYY above peak human

Has anyone seen Frieren episode 25 yet? The scene in the anime allows us to clearly hear the sound of magic as the sound of lightning. Will this give us MSH+ speeds for this verse?
