After the events of the movie, Maui is chilling on his island. That is until he sees a strange, creepy man in front of him. Maui is hostile, and asks who he is. The creepy man introduces himself as Gorr and that he’s slaughtered countless gods. Maui is shocked upon hearing this revelation and goes to attack Gorr, but he teleports out of the way. The God Killer then goes on about how the gods are selfish and greedy, and that Maui is no different when he stole the heart of Te’fiti. Maui responds by saying that he is a changed man as he shapeshifts into a man and jokes by saying “literally” afterwards. Gorr isn’t having it, and the Demi-god sees this and they both begin their fight.
