Hello. I wanted to propose downgrading Homer Simpson's durability. Quite frankly, even if he does actually have a feat of surviving a nuke, it's rather ridiculous for him to have to be rated as such.

One it is obviously a major outlier. I understand that Homer is a cartoon character, cartoon characters are inconsistent and we usually tend to go by higher end showings from a character and all of that.

However for the most part Homer Simpson is meant to be portrayed as a regular human man, with perhaps a few Wall level higher end showings, which I'm fine with him being rated based on. But gag moments like this explosion and other similarly immensely high showings I believe is a bit silly to use for him. Since clearly Homer as a whole isn't meant to be portrayed as nor is typically portrayed as this massively superhuman character. And while The Simpsons has its gag moments and inconsistencies, it's no Looney Tunes or Popeye by any stretch.

Lastly one of the more important things I wanted to bring up is if we're going to make Homer's durability Town level then we are clearly picking favorites. Dipper Pines was denied the same rating for a similar feat of surviving a massive explosion.

This got turned down for all the same reasons of it being a major outlier for him, that Dipper Pines as a whole isn't meant to be/shown to be that powerful, and that this would subsequently make everyone in Gravity Falls Town level which is far too outlandish and goes against all other showings or logic. Just as everyone in Springfield now has to be Town level since there are numerous characters who can harm Homer and he can harm back. If Dipper didn't get this upgrade, I see no reason why Homer should either.

Is there any other town level durability feat for Homer? If no then it's a huge outlier and should be discarded. I agree with OP

I also agree with this. It doesn't help that I can specifically recall instances where Homer has died due to other nuclear explosions.

I agree with the OP; Town level is a little OTT imho, but Wall level seems just fine.

I remember him surviving some pretty gnarly things from his fight with Peter, though not sure if it counts.

I agree with the downgrade.

@Radical I recall Homer explicitly gaining superpowers via nuclear radiation from his fight with Peter. So if anyone can find impressive feats from those two when that happened I'm fine with an additional key with those feats being accounted for.

As for regular Homer I still stand by this downgrade.

Everyone in Springfield died to a Nuke...except homer. He died to bullets and his falling carcass pressed the button that caused the nuke.

The real cal howard said:

Wasn't that a treehouse of horror episode? I recall that he went inside a fallout shelter and after he closed the doors, a nuke hit the city turning everyone into zombies. Maybe I'm thinking of something else?

Here is the full Homer vs Peter fight. They get their radioactive powers 3 minutes.

I see.

Part of me thinks that ToH should be kept separate from the main show (as in a separate key), or am I being a little too nit picky with that idea?

5 staff members, 2 regular members including the creator of the profile unaminously agree with the changes. I'll be downgrading him then.
