I genuinely don't understand the analogy. A universal quantifier does not determine the function of something. Earlier you said the concept was a property of the energy, now you're comparing it to a logical quantifier. Those are different ideas. Can you explain exactly what a path corresponds to in your analogy and how that follows from the lore in any capacity?

Aeons have to be "forced" away from their paths. Which we don't know what exactly it entails and whether it's a choice they can make.

That a concept is something that determines the function of a Path… which is all its energy. I’m seriously stomped at where this is confusing you. Universality is just a way to speak for all members of a group. I can’t explain it any simpler.
 
Ohhhh wait, I somehow misread my own comment when clarifying what quantify there means and thought I was talking about something else there. Prolly cuz I skimmed it or smthn. I was saying smthn like how the concept quantified the function of a Path’s Energy, or some property the particular energies of a Path possess which is why I suggested possibly CM2 in that regard earlier. It has nothing to do with actual logic lol. Ye man I gotta get some sleep

I mean with Ch13 you could argue solar system barrier is somehow not normal though just uses Senadina case for example.

  • They stated the barrier is impassable.
  • Until some unknown fluctuation occured so they seized that opportunity to get in.
  • Nana charged through the barrier almost exhuasting her life force.

You might think it's normal to have some issues by pass through the barrier because they are not Emanator nor Aeon but they surely have been through many star systems before because Sena said that this is the only 'quite' star system so far so it's only logical to assume she has been through many star systems before.

Things like the fluctuation or Nana has to do all that just to go through the barrier doesn't seem to happened with them before because you can just look at how Sena reacted to what Nana has done, and how they all reacted to the barrier suddenly having a fluctuation.

So basically the solar system here seem to cause more issues with them than the other star systems they has been through.

Also, you can just think of it like this: Nana is a universe traveler who has been to many places before, so why did she almost exhaust her life force just to pass through a single barrier? Even though there was a fluctuation occurring at the time creating the only opportunity for her to pass but she still needed to give it her all and almost died. Because of what exactly then?

The Tavern canonically has a framed picture of the irl Astral Express model (I think it's the one in Shanghai?) and are aware that it's from the "real world" beyond the game so make of that what you will

Being nigh impassable and severely damaging if brute forced is the default for all of the barriers. Everything else is conjecture. We have no context on the fluctuations, and you said it yourself that they went through several other star systems and this was the final one. They even asked if Nahralab could hold out, so we know she was far from peak condition before she even did that final dive.

Its also a mistake to assume that being a universal traveler means it must be effortless by default. The antimatter legion's goons a universal travelers too they have to risk near certain death every single time. Obviously they aren't even remotely comparable to Nahralab, but we don't now about how taxing her earlier crossings were, or her condition after those. So you could just as easily argue that it wasn't the damage of a single barrier, and that it was merely the straw that broke the camels back.

That, and the fact that they didn't take the opportunity to make an explicit comparison is itself telling. You mean Nahralab flew through countless barriers just fine and this one out of nowhere damn near killed her and nobody's like "that's weird!" Barrier is impassable while the others aren't and nobody's like "why is it impassable?" They notice one system is safer than the rest and say it, but one barrier is being weirder than the rest and they're mute?

Is it arguable? I guess? In the sense that you can make it work if you start with the assumption its true and look to justify it. But that's not my gripe anyway. Its direct misinfo

Nigh impassable, yes. Severely damaging I do not recall. The barriers are composed of Imaginary Energy and aren't Imaginary Space, and even if they were Imaginary Space, we've seen characters like Durandal navigate them without trouble as she's fused with extra dimensions.

Yeah, we have no context on the fluctuations, but passing the barriers (from HSR's data log) was impossible before Emanators came around. Asking if someone can hold out doesn't mean they're already damaged, it could just be a severely taxing activity.

I don't recall this being said, I don't think in HSR it's even been indicated that passing the barriers causes damage. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Special vehicles or modes of transport can also travel these barriers, so it seems odd that it wouldn't be effortless for these characters.

We don't even know if the barriers do damage through passing through them, it could be this one or just many.
