I will rate your fave Music: New Version

the first half was extremely mid and the second half banged HARD. Weird song.

1) Overall sounds decent, I didn't like how the non-singing parts sounded with the voice so 3.5 points.
2) It was the most forgettable thing ever until the second half hit hard so I'll give you the middle ground of 1.5 points
3) It was well balanced, 2 points
1) Like I said, half was boring, the second half was good, 0.5 points.

Overall: 7.5 - Quite Good

1) the riffs in the beginning were annoying so 3.5, otherwise its good
2) I have to say I think its memorable. Usually these types of songs struggle in the memorable department but I cannot in good concience put it low. I do think it doesn't have a truly catch part outside of the mech riffs. Overall, gonna give you 2 points.
3) Could barely hear the lyrics later honestly, 1 point here.
4) I think its pretty cool, i'll give it 1 point.

Overall: 7.5 - Quite Good

This is in general a funny complaint to raise and it's made so much funnier when you realize it is indeed about an Ice Nine Kills song. They're like. Graduated YouTube singers, most of their content is horror film fan songs lol. (I do not say this to denigrate them, I like Ice Nine Kills, their song for Evil Dead goes ******* crazy).
I don't like anything that deals with demonic stuff too much.

1) It sounds ok, no problem here, 4 points.
2) I will forget it. Heck, I'll sleep if I hear this again man. 0 points.
3) I think its balanced well. 2 points.
4) I am neutral on this, 0.5 points

Overall: 6.5 - Decent

1) 2 points - I didn't really like the lyrics. The whole song felt like it was trying to be a bunch of random things and didn't work out. They're relatively balanced and yet it just didn't hit.
2) It is relatively memorable, the lyrics were peculiar enough to be memorable i guess, 2 points
3) It is surprisingly balanced musically so 2 points.
4) Didn't like it, 0 points.

Overall: 6 - Ok

Hearing the insanely low takes is half the fun.

In my quest of continually shilling Ice Nine Kills, I recommend listing through the entire song. It's slightly over five minutes, but it's a very theatrical song that requires a bit of time to fully reach its musical peak. Just like their previous songs, this song is based around a Horror movie. Specifically, it's based on The Candyman.

Hearing the insanely low takes is half the fun.
"After sending that friendly rapport, Mr. Bambu's finger hovered over the ban button, awaiting to smite the next lowball scorer. His other hand tapped the cold steel of the AK on his desk as he pondered if a 6 was low enough to make good on tracking down the IP addresses his admin privileges granted him access to. Soon, he'd introduce Arceus0x to a new kind of 'death metal.' Soon."

Hey, you & Bambu weren't kiddin', this is pret-ty good. Can be fun when metal has that "theatrical/operatic" sound, which segues quite well into the growling. I'm checking out more by these INK guys now. Thanks for the rec.

Ever heard of Last Chance to Reason? Started with Metroid covers, matured into making one of the most cosmic metal albums I've heard (while not being space rock). Some tracks remind me of the vocal mixups in your INK pick: check a look sometime.

I'm glad you're enjoying the music. I would recommend checking out their albums: The Silver Scream 1 and 2. Those are their big break-out albums that have defined the current sound they have. If you enjoy them, I would check out their previous album, Every Trick in the Book, which is the initial concept album they made. That one is more so about Novels like Animal Farm or movies like The Exorcist (standout songs being The Nature of the Beast, which is about Animal Farm, Communion of the Cursed, which is about The Exorcist, and Me, Myself, and Hyde, which is about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde)

They were originally a Ska Punk band, so if you enjoy that sub-genre of music, I would recommend their early albums, such as Safe Is Just A Shadow and The Predator Becomes The Prey. They're pretty good for that genre.

I've never heard of them before. I'm personally not a big fan of their style, at least from what I heard from the song you posted. To me, the instrumentals were overpowering the vocalist too much. And when I did hear the vocals, I didn't find them all that memorable. I'll give the album a chance though, and see if I like any of their other songs. I don't want to completely discard a band's potential of providing me enjoyment when I've only listened to one song made by them.

They do remain me of a band that I quite enjoy, who has a space-aesthetic to them that influences their vocals and instrumentals. They're called Valiant Hearts, and I think a good starting song to get into them is Vertigo.

I'll keep that IKR roadmap in mind. Say, that Valiant Hearts track does vocalize & progress a bit alike to Last Chance to Reason, albeit with cleaner sound design & more verve. REALLY good, too, straight to my gym playlists. Sharing certain tracks here has given me interesting feedback, informing me that (while I also like crisp production) I like a lot of music with softened edges. Which makes sense, I listen to a lot of ambient & slushwave, yet I hadn't considered until now how much that informs my other genre tastes. There's probably some observation to be made there, but anyway.

One more rec from me before keeping back on topic. This one does have cleaner sound design, I think. A different flavor of metal than shares here so far, but probably my favorite album under that umbrella from the last decade. At least as far as ones with vocals go; otherwise there's tough competition from instrumentals by Demetori. But this is as dramatic as it gets, progresses in a way that feels like a true rock opera. The second track is where Wilderun shows its hand, but the acoustic intro brilliantly sets the stage. Ancient force.

Considering you liked Ghost Town so much, figured I’d hit you with Runaway. It’s a bit lengthy, but it’s also one of the few songs I’d consider truly “perfect” in Kanye’s catalogue.

1) It sounds alright, but that part with the funnymike sucks, 3 points
2) I wouldn't say its particularly memorable. 1.5 points with the points since the music is kinda fine and the...handle? sample? Idk, the shout that permeates the song is memorable.
3) Issues with balance here, lots of places where you can't hear the lyircs over the music and as I said before, the loud mike thing is bad. 1 point.
4) I am neutral on it honestly. I liked it at first but the second half was mid af. 0.5 points

Overall: 6 - ok

Iris was one of the best & most 2000s-feeling bands out there. Even their 2010s rave-inclined albums have that warm feel. This from their last guitar-heavy work might be my favorite penultimate track on any album ever, unabashedly emotional and great to drive to. I recommend their album "Awakening" as the ideal intro in general, but if I had to knock someone's socks off with one track, then this is the one to do it.

that ain't an awakening that's bloody hypnosis honestly

1) 4 points, sounds good regardless
2) Not memorable at all for me honestly, 0 points, there's literally nothing that makes me remember this song. The thumbnail alone is more memorable than anything here.
3) It was hard to hear the lyrics over the music, 1.5 points
4) I am neutral on it, 0.5 points.

Overall: 6 - ok

1) I didn't like some of the rhymes and how they fit, 3.5 points, the rest is good.
2) Honeslty quite a memorable thing, both musically and lirically. 3 points.
3) Music overpowers the lyrics sometimes, a bit of an issue honestly - 1.5 points.
4) I am neutral on it, 0.5 points.

Overall: 8.5 - Amazing

1) It sounds good, 4 points
2) It is somehow unique enough to be memorable and yet it barely has a hook until the later parts. I think I'll just give it 2 points.
3) You can barely hear the lyrics at all, sometimes the text appears and nothing can be heard and I am wearing good headphones too. 1 point for balance.
4) I am once again neutral on it - 0.5 points.

Overall: 7.5 - Quite Good.

looking at the pictures, this is totally me when I realize that the old copper I've been sold is actually ass

1) I didn't like the beginning part and some other parts just didn't hit right, 3 points.
2) Hard carried by tempo shifts, 1.5 point.
3) Can barely hear the lyrics. 1.5 points
4) I am neutral on it. 0.5 points.

Overall: 6.5 - Decent

Lemme put you on to some Pac and I'll leave you alone now.

This goes hard. I don't even think I need to rate this shit normally, it is a 10, maybe at the least a 9.5 cause some lyrics gets a weeee bit obscured by music but nah, giving it a 10.

Idk if someone posted this already.

My mind suddenly having to shift from english to russian to understand a song in 0.0242 seconds

1) I think they could've done more with the instruments as some of the music feels a bit too intermixed, making a mild white noise of sorts which idk, just doesn't sit right with me. Lyrics we kinda mid too. 3 points.
2) I don't really think this is memorable. Maybe its my perspective as someone understands the song but it just makes it more mid for me, 1 point.
3) I already said what I think about the instruments so 1.5 for the sound mixing.
4) I was kinda bored honestly, 0 points.

Overall: 5.5 - High Mid

Whilst I am taking a break, I will also share some of my own personal favorites again

6/10 Runaway is the take of all time.

My takes are based on what's basically personal enjoyment. Can't blame a man for disliking something.
Nah I get it lol, I ain't blaming you for nothing. I just wasn't expecting you to give it a 6/10 when it's widely considered like, a top 3 Kanye song in his discography after giving Ghost Town a 9/10 (also amazing song tbf, just not....just not Runaway).

If rage baiting was a competition, you would've won right here. Can't blame you tho, everyone's got their own music taste.
No better way to ragebait than to be perfectly honest

idk man I just didn't vibe with it. I ain't rating these the way you'd rank rap, but rather rating these as a composition of song and music. Ghost Town was unique, it switched up tempos, used different voices, had extremely catchy hooks. This one just didn't really hit the same.

Also a fair rating there.

No better way to ragebait than to be perfectly honest
1: There are better ways to ragebait than being honest (and personally, honestly, at least honesty is better than ragebait, and even when honesty is ragebait it's still better than lies), so I'mma troll you on that, but that depends on how badly one wants to annoy people (which, of course, also depends on their thresholds and tolerances), and we all know that any attempt to annoy people has its ups and downs/pros and cons (personally, I'd think there's more downs/cons than ups/pros).
2:
Stop talking to me.
New Rule: Mahek is going to be fully ignored for the duration of this thread
You broke your own rule. Oof.
Also, neither will I stop talking nor will I stop sending music, regardless of what you say or don't say, and just so other people don't criticise this message for being pointless and deviating from the purpose of the thread (and so that there's less reason to report this):
