How does Hax equalization works?

This is more out of lack of knowledge about Ikki, but doesn't he have an absolutely insane amount of skill and technique? He'd probably take this based on that (though to be fair, I don't remember if Gil went for an exchange with swordsmanship or tried using his abilities first)

He does have absolutely insane amount of skill and technique.

I don't see anything on Gil's profile that can even remotely compare to Ikki. I'll say ikki via massive skill advantage.
