King, the ØÿôØÿØÿñØÿ¼Øÿ¬ØÿªØÿ┤ØÿÁ Man on Earth

He used to have those on his profile but everyone disagreed with them.

I still think he should have them personally.

This.

I also think he should have them, personally.

I don't think this is enough to add the changes. As Tetsu said before, he used to have both but everyone disagreed with them. It would be better if you kept the page like it was before.

No King doesn't have control over fear. Having a fear aura means that you have some fear manipulating powers but in King's case, he's just being misunderstood by the others or else people like Tatsumaki or Bang can't get near King because of his "passive fear" and making them run for terror. The thing King does is more on Social Influencing instead which is a fit. For Supernatural Luck, he's just lucky but not on a supernatural level like Nagito Komaeda or Hajime Hinata.

Agreed with this.

Why? He's never shown to be below average.
"Could not unsheathe Atomic Samurai's katana, holding the sword in a position for 2 minutes took all the strength that he had and "pushed him to the limit." His power level was too low to be measured by Child Emperor."

The power level thing with CE is unreliable since the scanner was broken when he was scanned with it. The unsheathing one is more of a "stamina feat" if that's an appropriate thing to be categorized.

His sword could be heavy, I guess.

The average katana weighs 1.2kg, there's nothing supporting it as a heavy sword. And his secondary sword, a wakizashi, can weigh even less since it's overall smaller than the katana by a decent margin. Not sure which one King wielded during the webcomic.

Yeah but the bat Metal Bat uses isn't an average bat so I'm saying this under the assumption that this isn't a normal katana.

Actually, it's said that "His primary sword is a custom-made sword, supposedly crafted by a famous blacksmith " in OPM: Hero Perfection so you're right.

As in he can convince or manipulate people into thinking he's actually powerful, right?

Yeah except most of the time he's not even actively convincing or manipulating anyone. They already think he's the strongest, so they misinterpret things he says to fit this preconceived notion of theirs.

@Kamekaizen yes(manipulate is a bit of a stretch) and also quoting some parts of the description of Social Influencing:

"While it does not seem combat applicable, this skill can be used in many ways that can affect a fight indirectly, including buying time, obtaining information that could be important, or manipulating how a person might approach a situation."

So it seems that Social Influencing relies on the fact that King is falsely crowned with Saitama's achievements. People has to know that before believing his bluffs, otherwise they just get scared of King's appearance. Is it still applicable?

So they automatically know that this hero they have never encountered before has a reputation of being very strong from the first moment they meet him, and that is why they fear him, and not his presence that scares them like it does every time.

So, as I was asking...

Well it will not work in other verse I'm afraid, because in the OPM verse it is established that King was the "strongest man"(due to stealing Saitama's credit unintentionally) and many monsters and humans know this as common knowledge. Remember the time when King was introduced when the Robot attempts to fight King to know his strength because he wants to collect data on King and King bluffs his way to the bathroom? Also the monster that melt and died from King's stare is due to the fact that he thought King will kill him and because he's the "strongest man", the monster taught he has no chance and die due to stress. Just imaging if the monster knows that King is a weak man, do you think they will fear him when they heard the King engine?

He maybe can bluff his way out if the other characters outside the verse are scaredy cats and weak-willed, and it depends on how the OP's rules in the thread too if they want to give knowledge to King's opponent about the fake news they give wank King's achievement though. It depends

Every monster King has intimidated has already known his reputation.

But in the first episode of Season 2, he displayed Aura to Tongue Stretcher without the monster initially knowing who he was. Might have to rewatch it though.

Just checked, that's true.

Im sorry how does that support supernatural luck or fear aura? He mentions the king engine (His heart beat) and the fact he's a massive coward. He mentions how he just ends up in the right places at the right times. While he is definitely lucky calling it supernatural seems like a stretch. Also didn't see anything that suggested an aura of fear...

Fear Aura since the monster was scared to death by King upon seeing him.

Am I missing something about Fear Aura? Does it have to be that the character is consciously inducing fear or can it also qualify with the character not being aware of it?

If that's not an aura of fear, i don't know what is. The lizard monster was even paralyzed in fear.

I mean, imagine you, walking on your everyday life, bumping into monsters, some other hero beats it while you're crying or something, and miraculously nobody sees said hero and assumes you killed them. Now imagine this happening so many times to the point everyone knows you as "strongest man" and to the point the Hero Association recognizes you as a S Class hero.
