LS vs AP

Ok, so we all know by this point that just because a character can punch something, doesn’t mean they can lift that thing, and that’s all well and good. The confusion I have is in regards to the inverse: can you get energy output from LS?

According to the work formula, energy is just the force times distance, so logically, you can calculate AP from LS. But, despite this, you have Mori Jin in his third key only being rated at Low 7-B having at least Class Z LS, so unless if he can only apply that level of force for under a fraction of a millimeter, it makes zero goddamn sense for this to be the case. I was just wondering how the hell this is possible like… at all

Yeah you can get AP from LS feats if you calculate backwards from the actually work done so like

Force (in Newtons) * Distance character moves to peeform the work for the feat(in m or cm) = joules in energy

Thats just one way, also just depends on what the feat is

It depends on the feat. If it's like a throwing feat or you're pushing it at fast speeds or stopping it from charging, yeah it can count for AP.

Dw, I already know how it works

What I’m confused about is how we can have some characters (like Mori Jin) where this doesn’t apply even though the theoretical amount of work they produce would be far greater than their AP

This just seems like an issue with scaling. Whatever feat he has that makes him class z can just be calced to get his ap and then get that tier changed. Only issue I could see is the consistency with him being something higher than tier 7 during that but I've only watch s1 so you should be asking the supporters to handle this

Actually, after doing some digging, Mori’s 5-B rating when under accelerated development directly comes from the KE of Yeoui extending (the staff that he wields that gives him his Class Z rating due to being heavier than Mars) so clearly, the work that he produces by using Yeoui is being considered for his AP, so why isn’t the same being applied to his base if he can supposedly wield it?

(For context, I have basically no knowledge on TGoHS, I just saw Mori’s profile and got confused on his stats)

Why not ask the discussion thread about the scaling?
