Are prolonged Sword clashes actually LS, and not AP?

So I came upon this staff thread, and remembered that LS can be used to hold someone down.

So I am wondering, why doesn't prolonged sword clashes count as LS, since after the initial impact, it's no longer a "strike" force, but rather an "pushing force", basically a pulling force, but in the opposite direction, so why doesn't this count as LS?
