Yuh!
  • Conduction and more Conduction (First instance is Yomo frying the shit out of Mitsuki by sending his electricity through water, the second is him shooting it at a lighting rod to one shot Uta)
  • Contraction (Arima use's Narukami to attack Eto, which causes her to convulse in pain from getting hit.)
  • Heat (Arima shoots Narukami again which causes Kaneki to start melting, we also see it's heat application above in the first instance where he fries Mitsuki bad)
  • Electromagnetic Field and more (Yomo creates an electrical bubble from his Kagune to defend against Uta's attacks)

Now there's one issue with this, Narukami has a tracker attached to it that let's it home in on people, which means it's path is pre set. Lightning's high speed comes from ionizing a channel in the air and propagating through it. A guided homing bolt is inherently slower than one that's free flowing. This could likely be addressed via the explanation Eto give's on how the host's imagination shapes all factor's and their effects, allowing things like Tatara's 4,000+ C heat to exist.

Other than that, there's no issues. If you'd like more context/scans to these abilities, please let me know.

The Lightning Feats section states:

«Lightning that has demonstrated at a minimum a few properties that real lightning has, and significantly fewer properties that lightning shouldn't have, can be considered real. Some examples of favourable properties are: making muscles of affected beings contract, having an (electro)magnetic field, being shown to actually move with a speed similar to lightning, flowing through conducting materials, the character being able to manipulate real electricity or electromagnetism in general, generating ozone or causing electrolysis»

This fully complies with the rules, and the lightning instances do not have strange properties, and are also frequently referred to as lightning. In the anime, it is literally shown as lightning from the sky.

I fully agree with using lightning speed

Logically this makes sense. I'm just a little worried about possible outliers caused by this

Nearly all the speed feats in the verse are based around Narukami, Yomo, Renji, and Hakuri's abilities. There's Mach 300, 1,000, and then 8,000 feats within the verse, if this CRT get's accepted they all upscale greatly from it.

As for the consistency issues, there's one that I can think of, and it's Arima using a weapon that's vastly slower than his regular attack speed.

I mean, Lightning-based attacks in TG are portrayed more like heavy hitter rather than instinct attacks. Narukami is even called a high-output quinque, which means Arima might use it because of its high power.

And if I remember correctly, Arima often uses the sword mode more than the gun mode against HighTier opponents, since they likely can easily dodge Narukami lightning attacks

Another thing I’d like to note is that a character only reaches their speed when they accelerate themselves to that speed. This means that, technically, if a character cannot accelerate to that speed, then they shouldn’t be able to reach it in time to dodge Narukami’s lightning attacks, which have a more constant speed.

(Correct me if I'm wrong BTW)

Arima has far better resources at hand if he's needing to use a ranged quinque, either way, that's a topic for a different thread.

It is worth noting that this was a projectile from an almost broken quinque and is usually faster
