Not to necro, but reading book 1 so far and its great.
I kind of feel bad for Connor since while his friends didn't say he was useless, he most certainly felt that way, though it wasn't his friends fault either. I feel like Connor should've brought this up to his friends that he felt he was useless and his friends should've reassured them that he wasn't.
