Official Calculations Discussion Thread

The troubling part is the fact that the doors don't appear to have hinges or even be openable normally in any capacity. I'd just need to know what kind of stress pushing against the door like that would be
I think that would be either Yield or Shear. Ultimate Tensile definetely doesn't fit that definition. (This is incase its an LS feat aswell but you can make it an AP feat aswell with it)

So, to be clear, it'd be Yield strength of (whatever metal that is) * cross sectional area of the door's perimeter?
 
What would the standard be for finding the weight of a 20 something someone on a mortar cycle crashing into a wall at 150 k/h?

Is there a standard weight to be used?
 
I don't think so? At least, I can't seem to find it (or ANY calc that involves bending something until it breaks)

How does the destruction of ores compare to pure metal? Do we just use the metal, do we just use stone? Do we look for the typical minimum percentage of the metal in the ore to be economical valuable ore and just calculate the destruction of the rock and the metal? Is fragmentation even assumed to have to break the metal in the ore?
 
Question, I wanna calculate this feat

It's a Deep Tunnel straight-down, I can see the distant light at the top of the Tunnel, but I don't know how deep the Tunnel is.

Is there a way to calculate depth here?

I was looking at the Dulam spell from Mystery of the Emblem, and was wondering if it could be used for light speed, since it is described as a beam of light

Taking a look at the attack animation (3:09 mark),



it doesn't seem to be a case of aim-dodging, since Jeorge starts moving on the first frame of the spell trajectory, which is already in its way



Though maybe I'm wrong at the exact criteria on deciding aim-dodging, could someone on here let me know if it is a valid feat before attempting calculations?

At what speed does the air generally turn into plasma? Ie how fast do you have to be? And does the size of the object matter when it comes to the speed or is there like a set speed for it?
Here is the feat;
Shiv let time resume. He blasted downward. He moved with certainty. The entities briefly jerked to a halt in confusion. Even so, they were still traveling fast enough to turn the air into plasma. Shiv felt the heat of their presence, and he gritted his teeth as he struggled to push through the air they displaced.
 
Can anyone check these calcs for me to see if they’re alright? Furthermore, would the Arakiya bending-space feature qualify as spatial manipulation? I feel it shouldn’t, since it’s just a feat of raw heat output, and it is theoretically possible given our current physics

Do you know the head size of a pig? If you know then you could get the size of the robot, and as it seems the explosion originates from the robot, assume the robot is small enough to fit into the lower, small part in the center of the explosion that expands several times the robot height into the sky

Mushroom cloud calcs are one of those issues we haven't found a solution for. Two separate threads have been made to address the issue, but no conclusion has been reached, sadly.

Well his head length is 2.25 meters (since this character's body acts as a head for this version of them), and we do have renders of his body we can use for measurement to get the rest of it.

So you're saying we use his height to find the height of the lower part of the mushroom cloud explosion, and by extension the rest of it?

Yeah, do that, he would be above 10 meters tall, and the explosion expands nearly about 100 meters in The sky
